Disaster prevention and search and rescue drills in floods

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, rainfall will continue to increase on September 31 and October 1-3, especially in the mountainous districts of western Nghe An such as Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Quy Hop, Que Phong, and Quy Chau.

In Quy Chau district, heavy rain continues to occur, combined with flood discharge from hydroelectric reservoirs, causing the water level of Hieu river to rise, flowing rapidly above alert level 3, greatly affecting the lives of people near the riverbank.

During the drill, situations such as: Organizing evacuation, moving people and students in dangerous areas to safe places of residence; reinforcing disaster prevention works, overcoming damage caused by natural disasters; organizing house bracing; organizing first aid for injured people in storms; organizing drowning rescue and first aid for victims; overcoming consequences after natural disasters and environmental sanitation... were deployed through practical activities.

The exercise achieved the required goals of the Steering Committee, ensuring absolute safety, and implementing the set motto and plan. Thereby, contributing to raising awareness of the importance of Flood and Storm Prevention - Search and Rescue work of all levels, local sectors and people; at the same time, improving capacity and responsibility in directing, commanding, coordinating ability, and handling situations in Flood and Storm Prevention - Search and Rescue that may occur in the area, in order to minimize damage to people and property of the unit and people.
