The benchmark scores for admission to public grade 10 in Nghe An province this year depend largely on the movement of candidates after changing their preferences.

According to the plan, on July 12, public schools that only enroll first-choice students in Nghe An province will begin announcing the first round of admission scores. However, up to this point, some schools have begun compiling lists and announcing expected admission scores.

At Ha Huy Tap High School, through discussion, teacher Cao Thanh Bao - Principal said that after transferring the application, the number of candidates registering for NV1 admission to Ha Huy Tap High School was 1,192, not much different from the number of candidates initially registered (decreased by 63 students).

Through synthesis, the candidate with the highest score in the entrance exam to the school is a candidate from Nghi Kim Secondary School, with 27.35 points. The school has also made a list and 39 candidates who registered to take the entrance exam to the school have been admitted to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted: If these candidates are subtracted, the current admission score to Ha Huy Tap High School is expected to be around 21.6 points. However, this benchmark score may change if more students are admitted to Vinh University High School for the Gifted, but not by much.

Commenting on the school's benchmark scores this year, Principal of Ha Huy Tap High School added: Compared to the initial forecast, the school's benchmark scores this year increased slightly after changing the wishes. In fact, most of the students who transferred back were admitted.

At Le Viet Thuat High School, after 36 students registered to enter Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, the expected benchmark score is 21.65.

Through discussion, teacher Hoang Minh Luong - Principal said: This year's standard score to enter the school is lower than last year, partly because the level of differentiation of the questions this year is more difficult, so the exam scores are lower.

Previously, many parents were concerned that the increase in the number of 9th graders in the area and the fluctuation in the number of candidates after changing their wishes would greatly affect the admission score. However, according to the principal of Le Viet Thuat High School, this is not much because although the number of students has increased, the school has added 3 more classes with 135 students, so the candidates' chances are quite high. The admission score may also decrease because it depends on the number of students applying to Vinh University High School for the Gifted.

Across the province, the benchmark scores at some schools may fluctuate more than in previous years, especially those in Vinh city.

At Pham Hong Thai High School (Hung Nguyen), teacher Ho Thi Ha - the school's principal said: This year, the expected benchmark score for the first round at our school is 17.8 points, 1.4 points higher than last year. This score may decrease after students who passed the entrance exam withdraw to enroll in 2 specialized schools in the province and enroll in the advanced system of schools in Vinh.

Currently, out of 534 applications for admission to the school, 198 are students from Vinh city who registered to take the exam or transferred their wishes to the school (an increase of 78 students compared to the initial registration). It is expected that about 110 students from Vinh city who transferred back have been admitted.

Regarding the admission benchmark for grade 10 this year, according to the plan from July 12, public schools with admission for the first round in Nghe An province will announce the first round of admission.

The current benchmark scores at schools in Vinh and top schools are largely dependent on the number of applications withdrawn to enter specialized schools.

In addition, schools near Vinh may change because many students have been admitted but have transferred to Vinh Primary - Secondary School and Vinh Pedagogical Practice High School or are expected to transfer to advanced classes for convenience in commuting.

Previously, according to the plan, public schools planned to consider admission scores three times and admitted students had to confirm their enrollment early so that schools could finalize their lists and recruit additional students if necessary.

On July 8, after specialized schools, the first two public schools in the province, the Provincial Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities and Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities No. 2, announced the list of successful candidates for the first round. Due to their specific characteristics, these schools do not announce a common benchmark score for the entire school, but the benchmark scores are divided into different districts.

According to statistics, this year the quality of candidates from these schools is quite high, such as at the Ethnic Boarding High School No. 2, many students were admitted with scores above 26 and 27 points. The candidate with the highest admission score to the school is Le Xuan Quy - Chau Binh Secondary School - Quy Chau with 27.5 points.

Meanwhile, at the provincial Ethnic Boarding High School, the candidate with the highest admission score was Lo Khanh Hoang from Lam Son Secondary School (Nghia Dan) with 29.1 points. Students at ethnic boarding schools were given 2 additional priority points.
