CONTROL OF PEOPLE INVOLVED IN WHOLESALE MARKET

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Director of the Department of Health, as of 11:00 a.m. on July 2, Nghe An province recorded 111 positive cases of Covid-19 in 11 districts, cities and towns (including 2 re-positive cases in Nghia Dan and Que Phong). Of which, Vinh City recorded the most with 72 cases. In the past time, the number of cases has increased but mainly in quarantine areas, especially in the past 3 days, no cases in the community have been recorded.

However, Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh also said that the Covid-19 epidemic in the province still has potential risks. Because up to now, people related to the wholesale market outbreak have been basically controlled, but the cases have developed over many cycles, so the risk of discovering new infections with related factors is very high.

Another potential risk is that in other provinces and cities, the Covid-19 epidemic is still complicated. Many cases are asymptomatic. The vaccination rate in the province is still low, reaching only 1.2% of the total population.

The Director of the Department of Health proposed that, based on the recent developments of the epidemic, it is possible to stop applying Directive 16 in Vinh City from 0:00 on July 3 and switch to applying social distancing according to Directive 15. If Directive 16 is stopped, the work of preventing and fighting the epidemic must follow the motto: large-scale isolation, blockade, and isolation on a small scale with the principle of not leaving out any people.

In addition, it is necessary to promote the role of the Investigation and Tracing Team, replicate the model of the Community Covid Team in the whole province. Strictly control and manage in quarantine areas, at sensitive locations such as industrial parks, markets, eateries, restaurants, etc.

Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee Tran Ngoc Tu said that so far, the city has basically identified the sources of infection, controlled the epidemic situation, and people's awareness has also been raised. Therefore, the city proposed to stop applying social isolation according to Directive 16 and apply social distancing according to Directive 15 but apply other measures (Directive 15 +), thereby ensuring both epidemic prevention and control; and developing the economy, creating stability in society.

The provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control will review and evaluate the actual conditions after a period of implementation to decide on appropriate measures.

For the entire province, appropriate zoning, blockade, and testing measures must be implemented.
