Facing a strong opponent in the regional tournament, U19 Vietnam is forced to make an effort.
Coach Hua Hien Vinh affirmed that the U19 Vietnam team's group at the U19 Southeast Asian tournament is very competitive and when facing strong opponents such as Australia, Laos or Myanmar, the whole team must make maximum effort.
Evaluating the opponents of the Vietnam U19 Team, Coach Hua Hien Vinh said: "The group of Vietnam U19 is quite strong.
U19 Australia won the championship in 2020, did not participate in 2022 and is back this time. This is a strong candidate.

In addition, U19 Laos is also an unknown, 2 years ago they won the runner-up position. Overall, the group stage is relatively highly competitive and U19 Vietnam will have to make a lot of effort."
This morning (July 16), Coach Hua Hien Vinh and his team left their training location in Ho Chi Minh City to go to Indonesia to prepare for the group stage matches.
The Vietnam U19 team will depart from Tan Son Nhat Airport for Jakarta at 9:50 a.m. After that, coach Hua Hien Vinh and his team will continue on a domestic flight to Surabaya, the venue for the 2024 Southeast Asian U19 Championship.
The 2024 AFF U19 Championship will take place in Surabaya, Indonesia, from July 17 to 29. Teams will compete in a round-robin format in each group to determine rankings. The top three teams in each group and the second-placed team with the best record will advance to the semi-finals.

According to the schedule, U19 Vietnam will have the opening match against U19 Myanmar at 7:30 p.m. on July 18. After that, coach Hua Hien Vinh and his team will continue to face U19 Australia at 3:00 p.m. on July 21 and the final match against U19 Laos at 3:00 p.m. on July 24.
Before departure, Coach Hua Hien Vinh said: "U19 Vietnam has had 3 quality friendly matches in China and 2 recent practice matches. Up to this point, the players are in good condition and preparing for the upcoming tournament.
Overall, the players have grasped the proposed operation. Of course, the team still has problems to overcome and the coaching staff has also focused on recent training sessions to perfect the preparation stage."
