Fault line, many households isolated in Quy Chau
(Baonghean.vn) - Currently, the Quy Chau district government is mobilizing forces and means to temporarily fix landslides and damaged structures, ensuring traffic and safety for people after the flood recedes.
Present in Chau Hanh commune - one of the localities that suffered the most damage in the recent flood in Quy Chau district, local authorities and functional forces are focusing on supporting necessities, medicine, ensuring the lives of people after 2 days of flooding. However, the current concern is that there are still landslides in the area, especially roads are severely damaged, many households are still isolated.

The most dangerous point is the road from the center of Chau Hanh commune to the border between Minh Chau and Minh Tien villages, the entire road surface of about 20 meters long was washed away, the road broke in two, creating a large abyss about 7 meters deep. All 71 households in Minh Chau village were isolated, if they wanted to pass this section of the road, they had to wade down the abyss and then climb up, all vehicles could not be carried across. Below the abyss, many children were playing carefree, posing a potential danger if the landslide continued.

Mr. Vi The Long - Chairman of Chau Hanh Commune People's Committee said: This is one of the biggest floods in the area in the past decades, causing huge damage. The road to Minh Chau village is the most seriously damaged, but due to limited funds, the locality has reported to the district to ask for a solution to fix it. In the immediate future, the district has also sent a team to appraise and evaluate to find a solution to repair the road, helping people escape the situation of being isolated.

Not only Chau Hanh commune but also other localities such as Chau Tien, Chau Hoi, Chau Binh, Tan Lac town... have seen many landslides, rocks and soil spilling onto the road, making it impossible for people to pass. On National Highway 48, the road in Chau Hoi commune has a long layer of peeling off, the fence has collapsed, posing a danger to road users.

People's civil works were also affected. The water pipeline for daily life in Chau Binh commune was also broken by floodwaters, leading to a lack of water for daily life after the flood receded. Currently, in the district, there are still dozens of households living near landslides, some people have had to evacuate to stay at other people's houses to prevent heavy rain, the rest have mobilized brothers and neighbors to set up support poles, cover with sandbags to prevent their houses from being swept away by the water...

According to statistics from the People's Committee of Quy Chau district, in addition to more than 1,000 households being flooded, many roads, civil works, and irrigation works in many localities were also eroded and severely damaged, especially at locations such as National Highway 48A, National Highway 48B, National Highway 48D, Ke Le slope, Bu Xen slope, Bu Bai slope...

Through the discussion, the leader of Quy Chau district said: Currently, the locality is carrying out two tasks in parallel, supporting people to stabilize their lives, clean up, provide necessities and medicine after the flood. On the other hand, the district also mobilizes all human resources and means to temporarily fix damaged and landslide areas, with the highest determination to ensure traffic and daily life for people as soon as possible. For large, severely damaged projects, resources will be balanced and recommendations will be made to superiors for possible repairs in the near future.
