Buddhist Sangha accompanies the nation towards charitable and humanitarian activities

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 8, the Executive Committee of the Buddhist Sangha of Nam Dan district held a conference to summarize Buddhist activities for the 2018-2021 term and deploy directions and tasks for the 2022-2026 term.

Attending the conference were Most Venerable Thich Tho Lac - Head of the Central Cultural Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Executive Committee of the Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province; members of the Executive Committee of the Buddhist Sangha of the province; representatives of departments and branches at the provincial and Nam Dan district levels, along with monks and Buddhists.

In 2018, with the consent of the Board of TrusteesBuddhist ChurchNghe An province, the Executive Committee of the Buddhist Sangha of Nam Dan district was established with Venerable Thich Thien Tue as its Head. Since then, Buddhism in Nam Dan district has undergone many changes and developed according to the motto "Dharma - Nation - Socialism", contributing to the cause of Great National Unity and the development of the homeland and country.

The entire Nam Dan district currently has 10 pagodas approved by the Provincial People's Committee to restore activities; there are 18 monks and nuns practicing religion in the area and 48,000 Buddhists who have taken refuge in the Triple Gem and regularly organize religious ceremonies and activities.

Regarding the direction and tasks of Buddhist affairs for the 2022-2026 term, the Executive Committee of the Buddhist Sangha of Nam Dan district identified the most important issue as building facilities and perfecting the personnel apparatus. Innovating the content and form of organizing activities of monks and Dharma propagation to enhance education, humanity, and love for the homeland and country.

Actively participate in activitiescharity, humanitarian, mobilize organizations, individuals, philanthropists and all people to join hands to help the poor and sick; build a scholarship fund to support students in difficult circumstances to continue their education and build a bright future.

At the conference, 10 collectives and individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Executive Committee of the Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province; 09 collectives and individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the People's Committee of Nam Dan district and 29 collectives and individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the People's Committee of Nam Dan district.The Executive Committee of the Buddhist Sangha of Nam Dan district awarded a Certificate of Merit for his many positive contributions to Buddhist activities for the 2018-2021 term.
