Maintain the spirit of a revolutionary, ready to sacrifice one's life for the Party and the nation.
(Baonghean.vn) - During his revolutionary activities, during the years of imprisonment in Vinh prison (September 1929) and Buon Ma Thuot prison, comrade Phan Dang Luu maintained the integrity of a revolutionary with a clear mind, the courage to endure hardships and sacrifices, fearlessness, and readiness to sacrifice his life for the revolution and the people.
Phan Dang Luu forged great deeds, which were to temper his fighting will, maintain the integrity and personality of a revolutionary against the enemy, always be optimistic, confident, steadfast, maintain the revolutionary stance and discipline of the organization even in the face of the enemy's torture and terror. He forged daily tasks such as maintaining his health with the view that only with good health could he maintain a long and arduous revolutionary struggle and defeat the enemy's insidious plots and tricks to destroy the body and spirit of a revolutionary. In prison, under the whip, Phan Dang Luu's articles demonstrated his intelligence, courage, optimism, and confidence; they were powerful weapons of combat for the revolutionary ideal.

During his arrest and imprisonment in Saigon (November 1940), in the face of all the tricks, cunning, savage torture, threats and bribes of the enemy, Phan Dang Luu still upheld his communist spirit, absolutely protecting the Party's secrets. During his days in prison, Phan Dang Luu still showed his bravery, resilience, intelligence, optimism and belief in the Party's leadership, in the unstoppable power of the people to rise up and make revolution, and in the inevitable victory of the revolution. Phan Dang Luu told his comrades that Japan would oust the French, but then Japan would fall. At that time, it was a good opportunity for the Party to lead the entire people to rise up and win. Before passing away, Phan Dang Luu had nothing to regret, only thinking that if he were still alive, he would definitely find a way to return to the Fatherland, to the Party to continue to serve the revolution, to serve the people even more.
Sentenced to death, Phan Dang Luu still sought every opportunity, no matter how small, to organize his fellow prisoners to review and learn from the experience of the Southern Uprising. That clearly demonstrated an immortal revolutionary spirit that was still alive and fighting until the last breath; while the enemy was invading, he would continue the revolution until complete victory; while in prison, he would find a way to escape and return to the Party and the people to continue his revolutionary activities.

From mid-1940, when the Central Committee comrades fell into the enemy's hands one after another, Phan Dang Luu single-handedly steered the Vietnamese revolutionary boat through the stormy rocks. He demonstrated his loyalty to the Fatherland, the People, the Revolution, and the Party. On the basis of a firm grasp of the laws of the revolution, a thorough analysis of the objective and subjective conditions from reality, the comparative correlation of our forces and the enemy's, and responsibility to the people and the responsibility for the survival of the Party, Phan Dang Luu clearly demonstrated the personality of a key leader who firmly maintained the Party's organizational principles and asked for the Central Committee's opinions and orders. At the same time, he had to, by all means, quickly re-establish the Party Central Committee to gain collective leadership. Especially in the situation of the South in general, Saigon in particular, which was extremely difficult and complicated because of the enemy and the informants who sabotaged and the "left" and "right" ideologies in the Party, Phan Dang Luu clearly showed his courage, wisdom, and responsibility to the Party, to the revolution, and to the people. Going to the North to meet with the Northern Regional Party Committee, completing the chairing of the Conference to re-establish the Party Central Committee, he voluntarily returned to the South, a place that was very dangerous but where the Southern Regional Party Committee was waiting for him every day and every minute.
Phan Dang Luu - a name like many other names, but - as General Vo Nguyen Giap said: he is an outstanding, exemplary communist. It is necessary to make all people, especially the young generation, understand more clearly about a person, an intelligence, a personality who has made great contributions to the Vietnamese revolution, to strive to cultivate and train following the example of Uncle Ho and previous revolutionary soldiers like Phan Dang Luu". Phan Dang Luu clearly shows a bright, exemplary communist personality. A person, a personality that General Vo Nguyen Giap said is: "For the country, for the people, a loyal heart upholding justice/Loving the people, loving the Party, thousands of years of history books engraved in the heart and liver".

Phan Dang Luu is not a memory of the past. Phan Dang Luu is present with us today with many great values, in the end they are cultural and ethical values. Phan Dang Luu sacrificed himself more than 80 years ago, at the age of not yet 40, but the shining moral example of the senior leader of the Party and the Vietnamese revolution still shines today and tomorrow. That is the determination to fight for the Party and the revolution all his life. To practice impartiality, to put the interests of the Party, the People, and the Fatherland above all else. To serve the revolution, the Fatherland, and the People with all his heart and strength. To be exemplary in all work. To strictly observe Party discipline with high determination and confidence. To not be greedy for positions and power; to stay away from and not get involved in the circle of fame and profit, to destroy individualism. To Phan Dang Luu, honor is the most noble thing. Do not hide shortcomings, regularly and seriously self-criticize and criticize, dare to draw lessons from unsuccessful events such as the Southern Uprising to continue to live and fight, to continue to breathe and build the Party. Work not for personal fame, but for the common interests of the Party and the nation.
Every cadre, party member, especially leaders and today's young generation must always remember, understand thoroughly, do correctly, cultivate and practice revolutionary ethics following the moral example of comrade Phan Dang Luu.
We must self-reflect, self-correct, self-train, self-adjust, self-surpass ourselves, cultivate ourselves, correct our minds with a spirit and attitude of self-awareness, nurture the aspiration to develop the country for a strong, prosperous, happy Vietnam, step up to the stage of glory, stand shoulder to shoulder with the great powers of the five continents as the wish of our beloved Uncle Ho, of the senior leaders of the Party and the Vietnamese revolution and the aspiration of our entire nation.
