'Contributing bricks' to build new houses in Quy Chau district
The Farmers’ Association of Quy Chau district launched and implemented the model of the Campaign “Contributing bricks to build houses for poor members” with practical results. Many new houses were built with the contributions of farmers’ association members, becoming warm and affectionate homes.

Warm brick of love
Through the survey, there are still many farmer members and people in the area who are still in difficulty, do not have a solid house to live in, and need to be shared and supported. The Farmers' Association of Quy Chau district proactively advised the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee on the policy of implementing the Campaign "Contributing bricks to build houses for poor members".
The Standing Committee of the District Farmers' Association has developed a plan and implemented the campaign, in the form of propaganda, mobilizing cadres, members, farmers, organizations, individuals, and philanthropists in the spirit of voluntary support for the campaign in kind or cash. Members strive to support at least 2 dashboard bricks (equivalent to 5,000 VND) every year.
Based on the number of bricks donated, in the last month of each year, the Standing Committee of the District Farmers' Association collects bricks, coordinates with the Party Committee, the government and Farmers' Association organizations of communes and towns to give them to farmer members or people with difficult housing circumstances to support the construction of solid houses.
The grassroots Farmers' Association is assigned the responsibility of coordinating with local authorities to supervise the house construction of its members, mobilizing farmer members to help with additional materials and labor to build houses.

After the Provincial Farmers' Association issued Plan No. 21-KH/HNDT on implementing the "Bricks of Love" campaign to support poor members in building houses, the model in Quy Chau increased the level of mobilization for each cadre and farmer member to support 5 bricks (burnt or unburnt bricks), worth about 10,000 VND; each full-time cadre of the Farmers' Association supports 1 day's salary each year.
Effective replication
After nearly 5 years of implementing the campaign "Contributing bricks to build houses for poor members", the Farmers' Association of Quy Chau district has received the participation and support of a large number of cadres, farmer members, organizations, individuals and philanthropists. Up to now, the campaign has received support including bricks and cash, equivalent to a total amount of over 350 million VND; on average, each year the mobilized contributions from cadres and farmer members in the whole district are over 42 million VND.
From the campaign's support money, the Standing Committee of the Farmers' Association of Quy Chau district coordinated to conduct a survey and hand over bricks to support house building for 12 farmer households in the district. In addition, in 2023, 3 households received support of 50 million VND from the support fund mobilized by the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Quy Chau district branch.
Among the supported households, up to now, more than half have risen out of poverty, some have become economically well-off in the locality. A typical example is the household of member Lu Van Ngoc, born in 1995, residing in Ba Cong village, Chau Hoan commune; previously a particularly difficult household, thanks to the Farmers' Association at all levels supporting 20 million VND and borrowing more to build a solid house; after 3 years of having a stable house, Ngoc's family has promoted economic development, rising out of poverty.

At the same time, the Farmers' Association in Quy Chau helped 52 poor member households by contributing money, materials, mobilizing working days to repair houses, supporting seeds, animals... with a total cost of over 412 million VND.
The model of the campaign "Contributing bricks to build houses for poor members" has truly spread widely among each cadre, farmer member and community, contributing to helping farmer members and poor households stabilize their housing, develop the economy and improve their lives. This is also the model of "Skilled Mass Mobilization" being replicated by the Farmers' Association of Quy Chau district, mobilizing the joint efforts of the whole society, so that households in difficult circumstances are "not left behind".
