Consultation to elect Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Ky Son, Do Luong and Con Cuong districts

(Baonghean.vn) - At the Congress of delegates of the Fatherland Front Committee of Ky Son, Do Luong and Con Cuong districts, delegates consulted to elect Chairmen of the Fatherland Front Committee of the districts for the new term.

During 2 days (May 20 and 21, 2019), the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ky Son district held the 19th Congress of Delegates, term 2019 - 2024.Attending and directing the Congress was comrade Nguyen Van Huy - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province.

Over the past 5 years, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the district has mobilized contributions to the "For the Poor" Fund of 3,096 billion VND; supported 109 breeding cows for extremely poor households, supported 427 poor students with difficult circumstances to excel in their studies, supported 397 families affected by natural disasters; built 26 solidarity houses; organizations and individuals gave 25,377 gifts to the poor for Tet.

Mobilizing people to voluntarily contribute 11.64 billion VND, donating over 20 thousand m2 land, supporting 11,000 working days to build new rural areas... those results have contributed to reducing the poverty rate to 50.9% by the end of 2018.

In the spirit of solidarity, democracy and consensus, the Congress consulted and elected the 19th District Fatherland Front Committee, term 2019 - 2024, consisting of 65 members; elected a Standing Committee of 5 members. Mr. Va Ba Cai - was re-elected as Chairman of the District Fatherland Front Committee.

The Congress consulted and elected 7 official delegates and 1 alternate delegate to attend the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Nghe An province, term 2019 - 2024.

During the 2014 - 2019 term, the Fatherland Front at all levels and member organizations in Con Cuong district continued to innovate the content and methods of operation, effectively organize and implement the front's campaigns and patriotic emulation movements, notably the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", mobilize contributions to the "For the poor" fund;...

In 5 years, the two-level fund for the poor has mobilized more than 2.6 billion VND, renovating and repairing 75 houses for poor households, supporting the poor in medical examination and treatment; helping people affected by natural disasters; awarding scholarships to poor students who love to study; giving gifts to poor households on holidays and Tet... with a total amount of tens of billions of VND, contributing to the effective implementation of poverty reduction work, promoting the socio-economic development of the district.

Delegates at the Congress focused on discussing and contributing ideas to continue innovating the content and methods of operation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, building a strong Front organization, and at the same time proposing goals, contents and solutions to concretize the 5 action programs of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2019-2024.

In the spirit of solidarity and democracy, the Congress consulted and elected 59 members to participate in the 17th Con Cuong District Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; elected 7 official delegates and 1 alternate delegate to attend the higher-level Congress. Mr. Pham Trong Binh - Head of the District Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission was consulted and elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Con Cuong District Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee for the 17th term, 2019 - 2024 term.

Also in 2 days (May 20 and 21),Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Do Luong districtorganized the 16th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2019 - 2024. Attending were comrade Nguyen Ngoc Nguyen - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province.

During the past term, the District Fatherland Front Committee has strived to achieve many important results, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of Party Congresses at all levels.

In the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", the whole district mobilized people to donate 373,000 m2 land, thousands of meters of fence, cash contributions of over 152 billion VND, tens of thousands of working days. Up to now, 17/32 communes have reached the new rural finish line.

In 5 years, the campaign “Tet for the poor” has mobilized nearly 11,000 gifts worth over 5 billion VND to give to poor households and families in difficult circumstances. The “For the poor” fund reached over 9.7 billion VND, supporting the construction and repair of 323 solidarity houses for poor households with over 5.2 billion VND.

The Fatherland Front at all levels in the district has supported 4,000 scholarships for students from poor families with difficult circumstances worth 1.35 billion VND; and donated 151 cows to poor households worth over 2 billion VND. The poverty rate decreased from 6.5% in 2014 to 1.81% in 2018.

The Fatherland Front of Do Luong district organized 380 monitoring sessions focusing on the following areas: socialization in collecting contributions to build facilities in schools, management and use of irrigation fee compensation funds, implementation of policies for people with meritorious services, social policies, etc.

The congress elected 71 members of the District Fatherland Front Committee for the 2019-2024 term and 9 delegates to attend the Provincial Fatherland Front Congress. Mr. Doan Van Loi - Member of the District Party Committee Standing Committee, Head of the Mass Mobilization Committee, Chairman of the District Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee was re-elected as Chairman of the Do Luong District Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee for the 2019-2024 term.
