More than 1,000 poor people were examined, consulted and given free medicine in Quy Hop
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 29, in Chau Cuong commune, Nghe An Red Cross Association coordinated with Vinh International Hospital to organize a program to examine, consult and provide free medicine for the poor in Quy Hop district.
During the 2 days, the delegation will examine, provide consultation and provide free medicine to 1,000 poor people, policy families, disabled people, and those who are less fortunate in the communes of Chau Cuong, Chau Tien, Chau Hong, Yen Hop and Dong Hop. These are remote and disadvantaged communes of Quy Hop district; the poverty rate accounts for nearly 50% of the population.

On the basis of conducting basic examination services, doctors and nurses help people detect common diseases as well as serious diseases early, thereby advising on appropriate treatment measures for better health care. After the examination, the team provided free medicine, each prescription worth 80,000 VND for the subjects.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, a representative of the People's Committee of Quy Hop district thanked the program for its attention and support for the district's poor and hoped that the program would continue to help the poor access medical services, take good care of their health and improve their lives.

Also within the framework of the program, the delegation presented 100 gifts, each containing 10 kg of rice, to people in Chau Cuong and Yen Hop communes from the support of Nghe An Agricultural Food and Materials Joint Stock Company.
It is expected that tomorrow (June 30), the delegation will continue to examine, consult, provide free medicine and give rice support gifts to poor households in the western commune cluster of Quy Hop district in Yen Hop commune.
