Con Cuong district will hand over the site for Thanh Nam bridge project in October.
Con Cuong District is striving to relocate all households to new business locations by mid-October 2024 to hand over the site for the Thanh Nam Bridge construction project.
Arrange new business locations for people
One of the projects that has been stuck in land clearance in Con Cuong district for a long time is the projectThanh Nam Bridgeacross the Lam River. However, the positive signal for site clearance for this project was resolved this October, when all businesses in the Con Cuong market area agreed to the solution of moving to a new business location.

Mr. Hoang Minh Duc and his wife in Con Cuong town, owners of a kiosk that is part of the Thanh Nam bridge project, said: For decades, his family has made a living from the husband's tailoring business and his wife's ready-made garment trading business. Therefore, the family has two adjacent kiosks, one selling ready-made clothes, the other working as a tailor.
Right from the beginning, the local government promoted and mobilized for land clearance. Not only his family but also the business households here agreed with the policy and wished that the State would create favorable conditions for arranging new business locations to earn a living.

"After the town governmentCon CuongTo arrange a new business area for the people, our family complied with the policy of moving to a new business location and handing over the land to the project. According to the arrangement of Con Cuong town, my family received 2 kiosks. My wife's kiosk in front of the main market area sells ready-made clothes, while my husband's kiosk is a tailor, arranged behind the market area. My family finds the arrangement of the local government reasonable. Currently, my family hopes that the locality will soon complete the new kiosk so that we can move to a stable place to do business," Mr. Hoang Minh Duc shared.

Next to it is the kiosk of Ms. Phan Thi Phuong, who works in garment industry. Ms. Phuong said that the government has informed her family about the plan to arrange a new business location behind Con Cuong market area, only a few dozen meters away from the old location. The family completely agrees, so they will soon carry out the steps to move goods and assets.

Mr. Mai Quang Hoi - Chairman of Con Cuong Town People's Committee said: The area cleared for the road to the bridge on the right bank of Lam River (from National Highway 7 to the bridge) has 38 business households and 3 residential households. After many years of researching and arranging new business locations for households subject to relocation for the Thanh Nam Bridge project, the locality has chosen the option of building 2 new business areas at Con Cuong market.

One area is located in front of the market hall, close to Highway 7, for those who sell clothes, groceries, etc. Another area behind the market hall is for those who work or trade. With that approach, the businesses located in the cleared area have agreed to move to a new location and hand over the site to the project. Currently, the town is completing new kiosks, striving to move all 38 businesses to the new location no later than October 15.
“The town supports people in building the entire kiosk infrastructure and arranges forces to support people in the process of moving assets and goods to the new business location,” Mr. Mai Quang Hoi shared.
Thanh Nam Bridge will be completed next November.
Thanh Nam Bridge (Con Cuong) is designed as a permanent bridge with prestressed reinforced concrete structure, the bridge length is more than 412m, the road at both ends of the bridge has a total length of 1.78km. In which, the road at the bridgehead on the town side (intersection with National Highway 7), about 0.18km long: Grade III mountainous road, 9m wide roadbed; 6m wide road surface, reinforced 1.5m shoulder on each side with the same structure as the road surface. Complete construction of drainage system along both sides of the road. The project has a total investment of 166 billion VND, 88% of which has been disbursed so far.

The road at the bridgehead on the left bank of the river (intersection with DT.541), about 1.6km long, is a grade IV mountainous road with a 7.5m wide roadbed; 5.5m wide road surface, reinforced 0.5m on each side with the same structure as the road surface. The bridge is designed with a load capacity according to HL93 standard.
A representative of the Con Cuong District Construction Investment Project Management Board said that as of October 9, the bridge section had reached 98% completion; the road leading to the bridge on the left bank had reached 98% completion; the road leading to the bridge on the right bank had reached 30-40%. The reason for the low completion of the road leading to the bridge on the right bank was due to the presence of business kiosks of the people with a length of 60m.

The Thanh Nam Bridge project across the Lam River (Con Cuong) was started in September 2021 and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2023. However, due to difficulties in site clearance, Con Cuong district proposed Nghe An province to extend the deadline and the province approved it, with a deadline of the end of October 2024.
With the active participation of local authorities and the consensus of the people, this October, the district will complete the site clearance for the Thanh Nam Bridge project. Along with that, the district also directed departments and boards to urge contractors to speed up the construction progress when the site is available, striving to bring the project to the finish line in November 2024.
