Inauguration of Khe Chon bridge to resettlement area in Con Cuong (Nghe An)
Khe Chon Bridge to the resettlement area of Quan village, Binh Chuan commune, Con Cuong district (Nghe An) was just inaugurated and put into use on the morning of May 28.
The resettlement area of Quan village, Binh Chuan commune has 31 households relocated under Decision 193 of the Prime Minister. However, the spillway bridge over Khe Chon has been washed away by floodwaters twice during the rainy and stormy season, making travel and production extremely difficult for people on both sides of the bridge. Notably, at the end of 2017, a resident was swept away and died while trying to cross this stream.

Traffic was cut off during the rainy season, so many households after moving to the resettlement area left their land and houses to return to their old places. Some households, because they went to work far away, left their houses abandoned and seriously damaged.
Faced with this situation, Con Cuong district has started construction of Khe Chon bridge from the district's basic construction fund with a total investment of 7.7 billion VND. The bridge was started in June 2023 and completed in May 2024, 7 months ahead of schedule.
Khe Chon Bridge is built as a permanent bridge made of reinforced concrete with a length of over 68m. The roadbed width is 5m, the concrete road surface width is 3.5m; The width of the earthen shoulder on each side is 0.75m. The bridge has a load capacity of 20 tons.

The new, large, beautiful and sturdy bridge was completed and put into use to ensure travel, trade and economic development conditions for hundreds of Thai ethnic people in the Quan village resettlement area.
The bridge has removed the last point that was cut off during the flood season in Binh Chuan commune, so the people of Quan village were happy and excited; many households returned to build new houses, focusing on economic development to stabilize their new lives.
