Provincial leaders inspect landslides in Con Cuong and Do Luong
(Baonghean.vn) - Inspecting the actual landslides in Con Cuong and Do Luong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu said that in both districts, there are isolated areas, the locality must consider and evaluate specific conditions, if necessary, there will be support from the Army and the province.
On November 1, Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected the landslide situation caused by heavy rain in the past few days in Con Cuong and Do Luong districts.
Also attending were the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue, and local leaders.

Report of Chau Khe commune,Con Cuong districtsaid that on October 29, in the Bung Xat village area, a large crack appeared, posing a danger to households living in the area and traffic on the Khe Choang - Khe Bu route. The commune People's Committee has propagated and mobilized 20 households with 64 people in the area to urgently evacuate to a safe place.

Appreciating the proactive spirit of "4 on-site" of localities as well as the people's willingness to relocate and evacuate from dangerous places, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stated: This is a relatively wide crack, the deepest part is nearly 2m and is showing signs of cracking down, so it is very dangerous and has the potential to continue.landslide.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: At present, ensuring absolute safety for people's lives is the most important and must be put first. Therefore, Chau Khe commune needs to encourage people to stay at the evacuation site and only return when advised. At the same time, continue to assign security forces to monitor, warn, ensure traffic safety through dangerous areas as well as protect people's property, prevent loss or damage; provide enough food and necessities for people.

Directing the incident handling, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu said: In the immediate future, it is necessary to lower the height to prevent landslides; immediately after the incidentstorm, suggested the district hire consultants to survey, assess the level of danger and find the optimal solution to handle the cracks. In case people have to move to a resettlement area, the new resettlement area must not only ensure living and production conditions, but most importantly, must ensure safety in case of floods, storms, and landslides.

According to Mr. Pham Hong Son - Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, in addition to putting up 5 warning signs to warn people not to enter dangerous areas, the commune also focuses on advising people not to return home when it is not really safe. "If it continues to rain, a huge amount of rock and soil will slide down, possibly sweeping away entire households. We are proposing that the district study and reduce the amount of soil on the top of the hill to reduce the amount of soil pushed down to the foot of the hill," said Mr. Son.

"Propagate and strictly prohibit people from fishing or collecting firewood on rivers and streams during floods to avoid human casualties. Mobilize machinery and equipment to handle landslides and congestion, guide and divert traffic, and ensure safe and smooth traffic" - the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested.
