(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 3, hundreds of officers and soldiers of the Provincial Military Command and Provincial Border Guard went to Ky Son to strengthen forces to overcome the consequences of flash floods.

Directly directing the work of overcoming the consequences at the scene, Colonel Duong Minh Hien - Deputy Commander of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command informed: "We have mobilized and reinforced 150 officers and soldiers of Regiment 764 to help people overcome the consequences. Along with that, the Nghe An Provincial Military Command promptly provided 2 tons of rice and 350 gifts to support affected families in Ta Ca commune and Muong Xen town (Ky Son), encouraging people to overcome the disaster".

It has been the second day since the flash flood passed through Muong Xen town and Ta Ca commune of Ky Son district. The flood swept away many valuable properties and dozens of houses. The houses that were not swept away also lost all their valuable properties. Currently, hundreds of houses are submerged in mud. Traffic is paralyzed, electricity and water are out. Life is difficult on top of difficulty. People whose houses were swept away and flooded and could not live in were arranged to stay with families in high areas and evacuated to safety.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Dong - Commander of the Ky Son District Military Command said: "The biggest difficulties facing the locality as well as the armed forces at present are power outages, water outages, traffic paralysis, and lack of gasoline and oil. We are currently mobilizing local forces to help people dredge mud and soil, rebuild houses, and collect remaining assets."

Also on the morning of October 3, 50 officers and soldiers from Na Ngoi Border Guard Station, Nam Can, Nam Can International Border Gate, Company 1 of Battalion 19... rushed to Ky Son and promptly arrived. The 50 officers and soldiers were divided into working groups, crossed the fast-flowing stream, and marched to Son Ha village, Ta Ca commune. This is a location that is temporarily cut off from the outside world due to the high, fast-flowing stream, making access and relief very difficult, and means of transport are not yet accessible.

At the same time, the working groups quickly supported families in cleaning up fallen trees, buried soil, sand, and cleaning their houses... With the amount of soil, rocks, and trees carried by the floodwaters, many families had their houses and belongings buried... the amount of work required border guards and soldiers to work very hard.

Colonel Ho Quyet Thang - Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of Nghe An Border Guard said: "In addition to sending forces to support households, the Provincial Border Guard also donated, supported, and gave 100 gifts (food, food, drinking water...) to people affected by floods. We will maintain forces to help people until their lives stabilize."
