Nghe An officially announced the admission method for grade 10 in the 2023-2024 school year
(Baonghean.vn) - The admission method for the first grade of Nghe An province this year has not changed much compared to previous years. However, for classes that enroll based on foreign language certificates, the form is more convenient for candidates.
The Provincial People's Committee has just announced Decision No. 766/QD - UBND on approving the plan for 10th grade high school enrollment in Nghe An province, 10th grade enrollment in Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted andGrade 10Boarding high school for ethnic minorities and 6th grade boarding middle school for ethnic minorities in the 2023 - 2024 school year.
Accordingly, this year's 10th grade admission method does not have many changes as it only enrolls students with permanent residence in the province. If students transfer from another locality, they must have the approval of the Department of Education and Training.
Admission to grade 10 will be conducted in 2 ways. In which, entrance exams will be conducted for schools with the number of students registering for their first choice exceeding the enrollment quota and admission will be considered for the remaining schools.

Particularly for schools under the project "Piloting the construction of advanced kindergartens and general schools following the trend of international integration", admission is based on the selection method for classes implementing advanced models; and entrance exams for the remaining classes.
For the English classes under the foreign language project, students in the province can register for admission to English classes implementing the foreign language project at high schools approved by the Department of Education and Training. The admission method is based on the results of 4 years of secondary school and the results of international English proficiency certificates. The Director of the Department of Education and Training will review and specify the admission criteria.
In the upcoming exam, students will still take 3 exams, which are Math, Literature and Foreign Language (English and French). The entrance exam score is the total score of 3 exams and additional points for priority subjects. In which, Math and Literature will be written exams and Foreign Language will be tested in the form of objective multiple choice. The exam will be held on 2 days 5-6/6/2023.

Regarding Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, this year the school will enroll a maximum of 525 students and each class will have a maximum of 35 students. There are 9 specialized classes in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Literature, History, Geography, French, and Russian.
In addition, there will be 2 specialized Math classes (Math 1, Math 2) and 4 specialized Foreign Language classes (English 1, English 2 and 2 specialized classes implementing the Foreign Language Project). For the 2 specialized English classes implementing the Foreign Language Project, students will be selected based on the results, conduct of 4 years of secondary school, and the results of the international English proficiency certificate. The Director of the Department of Education and Training will review and specify the specific admission criteria.
For the remaining specialized classes, students will take exams in Math, Literature, Foreign Language and 1 specialized subject. Math, Literature, Foreign Language scores are taken from the 10th grade entrance exam. Candidates, in addition to registering for their first choice, can register for their second choice in a History or Geography specialized class, an Informatics specialized class or a Math 2 specialized class, a Biology specialized class, a Russian or English 2 specialized class.
According to the decision of the Provincial People's Committee, this year the Provincial Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities will enroll 7 classes with 245 students, and the Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities No. 2 will enroll 6 classes with 210 students.
For 6th grade students, the Ethnic Boarding Secondary Schools in Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Que Phong, Quy Chau, and Quy Hop districts each enroll 3 classes with 105 students.
