Nghe An prepares for the Anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's Call for Patriotic Emulation

On the morning of May 18, the Organizing Committee of the 70th Anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's Call for Patriotic Emulation held a working session with departments, branches and sectors to review preparations for the celebration.

At the meeting, the delegates basically agreed with the plan of the Department of Home Affairs on organizing the celebration. In addition, some delegates said that it is necessary to ensure the time for speeches; to set out specific criteria in selecting typical advanced examples...

Concluding the meeting, comrade Le Xuan Dai requested the Department of Home Affairs to review the collectives and individuals who were awarded, and to set out specific criteria to ensure fairness and objectivity. The Department of Culture and Sports will focus on visual propaganda from June 1; prepare well the art program. News agencies and newspapers will step up propaganda work.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested relevant departments and branches to review their assigned tasks to prepare carefully and with quality. Regarding the time of the celebration, the meeting agreed that the celebration will be held at 8:00 a.m. on June 8 at the Conference Center - Giao Te Hotel, Vinh City.

70 years ago, on June 11, 1948, in the context of famine and illiteracy raging everywhere, foreign invaders lurking, plotting to overthrow the young revolutionary government, facing the critical revolutionary situation, President Ho Chi Minh issued the "Call for Patriotic Emulation" to encourage compatriots and soldiers to promote their patriotic tradition to carry out urgent tasks against famine, illiteracy and foreign invaders, contributing money and labor to the cause of national construction and defense.

Responding to his call, the whole country united, promoted the spirit of self-reliance, self-strengthening, national pride, overcame all sacrifices and hardships, not only firmly protected the revolutionary government, created brilliant milestones in the two resistance wars of the nation, successfully completed the cause of liberating the South and unifying the country, but also joined hands and strived to bring the Vietnamese people on par with international friends.
