Nghe An: Thousands of people visit Hong Son Temple on the anniversary of the death of their ancestors
(Baonghean.vn) - Thousands of people from Vinh city and surrounding areas came to offer incense and make offerings at the Hung King's death anniversary held at Hong Son temple.
On April 14, at the national historical and cultural relic Hong Son Temple (Hong Son Ward), Vinh City People's Committee held the Hung King's death anniversary ceremony 2019.

The Hung Kings' death anniversary is held to commemorate the merits of the Hung Kings, remind people to remember their roots, and continue to build pride in the traditions of their ancestors and the Lac Hong lineage. At the same time, the ceremony creates conditions for Vinh city residents who do not have the opportunity to go to Hung Temple in Phu Tho to offer incense and pay their respects to their ancestors and roots.

The program includes lion dance performances, martial arts and the epic "Vietnam's Pride"; incense offering and prayers for national peace and prosperity; reading of the Hung King's death anniversary eulogy.

According to historical documents, Hong Son Temple was built during the Nguyen Dynasty, considered as Vo Mieu, currently becomes a place where deities (King, Mother, Buddha, Saint) gather, including the tablets of 18 Hung Kings. The temple was ranked as a national historical - cultural relic in 1984.

During the year, Hong Son Temple has 3 major festivals, including: Hung King's death anniversary (10/3 lunar calendar), Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan's death anniversary (20/8 lunar calendar) and Holy Mother Lieu Hanh's death anniversary (3/3 lunar calendar). The temple has become a cultural and spiritual activity center for the people of Vinh city and neighboring districts.
