Nghe An: Many people are implicated in the couple who are in home quarantine but still go to the market
(Baonghean.vn) - Returning from Binh Duong to their hometown Yen Thanh, while in home quarantine, the couple still went to the market and later tested positive, causing many people to be implicated.
On October 27, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung - Director of Yen Thanh District Medical Center said that medical staff of this district are urgently tracing people who have come into contact with a patient from Binh Duong province infected with Covid-19 to send them to centralized quarantine. "For now, we have traced 19 F1 cases, taken samples for testing and sent them to centralized quarantine. These 19 people are concentrated in many communes including Vien Thanh, Bao Thanh, Son Thanh, Vinh Thanh," said Mr. Tung.
The patient is a 33-year-old man residing in Vien Thanh commune. On October 19, he, his wife and child took the train from Binh Duong province to Vinh station. Because both husband and wife had received 2 doses of vaccine, the second dose was more than 14 days ago, they were ordered to quarantine at home for 7 days as prescribed.
According to the report of the Nghe An Provincial Center for Disease Control, on October 25, the patient was tested for the third time and the result was suspicious. On October 26, the patient was tested again. On the morning of October 27, the result was confirmed positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus.

"This couple violated the quarantine regulations," said Mr. Dang Quang Hoang - Chairman of the People's Committee of Vien Thanh Commune, adding that as of October 26, the couple had been quarantined at home for 7 days. However, the final test results were not yet available, and the commune had not yet issued a notice to end the home quarantine period for this family. Therefore, according to regulations, the couple were not allowed to leave the house and were still in quarantine.
The locations in the notice are all in Khe market (Bao Thanh commune), including the parking lot and grocery store of Ms. Nguyen Thi Khang, 20m from market gate number 3, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on October 26.
