The jar contains ancient coins |
That is the family of Mr. Nguyen Dinh Cuong, residing in Tay Hieu commune, Thai Hoa town. Mr. Cuong said that during a trip, he accidentally heard that a local resident had dug up a jar of ancient coins while digging the foundation of his house. The jar was made of baked clay, and after many years underground, it still kept its original shape, and inside were many ancient coins. Mr. Cuong bought the jar for 5 million VND to display in his family.
According to observation, the coins in the vase were discolored, tarnished and rusted. The weight of the vase containing the ancient coins was about more than 10kg.
Many village elders predict that the coins in the jar date back to the late 16th or early 17th century.
