Nghe An: After many pine forests, acacia and myrtle forests also caught fire
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of June 29, Mr. Nguyen Van Phan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Hung Xuan commune (Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An) said that the authorities had extinguished the forest fire in Thanh mountain (Hung Xuan commune) and Hung Lam and Hung Phu communes (Hung Nguyen district).

On the morning of June 29, local people discovered a fire in Thanh Mountain (in Hung Xuan Commune) and reported it to the authorities. However, due to the hot weather and strong Lao winds, the fire quickly spread to the forests in Hung Phu and Hung Lam Communes (Hung Nguyen District). Many sim, mua, acacia, and eucalyptus trees were burned.

Police force, Military Command of Hung Nguyen district, Team No. 7, Fire Police Department of Nghe An province together with people made efforts to put out the fire to save the forest of sim, acacia, eucalyptus... Leaders of Hung Nguyen district were directly present to direct the fire fighting work.

By about 3:00 p.m. on June 29, the fire was under control, but some spots were still smoldering.
The cause of the fire is being further investigated and clarified by Hung Nguyen District Police.
