Nghe An: Highlights on May 19

*NOn May 19, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security had a working session withNghe An Provincial PoliceandVinh City Policeto survey the implementation of the Project on organizing activities of political and social organizations in the People's Public Security.

According to the Deputy Minister of Public Security, the activities of political and social organizations need to be demonstrated through three measures: following the right policies, following the law, and ensuring legitimate interests for organizations and individuals participating in the apparatus.

Affirming that the model of political and social organizations in the grassroots police force is correct and necessary, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh especially emphasized the implementation of mechanisms and policies for part-time officers, while also requiring strengthening the work of fostering, training and planning officers to ensure harmony between professional work and organization activities.

The representative of the provincial National Assembly delegation affirmed that they will fully accept the recommendations and proposals of the Provincial People's Committee and departments, branches and sectors; on that basis, classify and recommend the National Assembly to study, amend and supplement the law for issues related to the legal system; recommend the Central Ministries and branches to handle issues related to sub-law documents.

*SOn May 19, the Government's Steering Committee for Administrative Reform to announce the 2019 administrative reform index held an online conference with ministries, branches and People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities. *SMay 19,Congress of Yen Thanh District Party CommitteeThe congress program was completed after 3 days. The congress announced the results of the first meeting of the 27th Yen Thanh District Party Executive Committee, term 2020-2025. This is the first congress of the grassroots Party Committee in Nghe An to successfully organize a congress, term 2020-2025.

At the first meeting, the Party Executive Committee of Yen Thanh district elected 13 comrades to the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term. Comrade Nguyen Viet Hung - Secretary of the District Party Committee for the 2015 - 2020 term, Chairman of the District People's Council continued to be elected to hold the position of Secretary of the District Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term.

The District Party Executive Committee also elected two Deputy Secretaries of the District Party Committee: Comrade Nguyen Quy Linh - Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee; Comrade Phan Van Tuyen - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee. Comrade Nguyen Danh Tue was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the District Party Committee's Inspection Committee.

*CAlso on May 19, theTan Thang Commune Party Committee,Quynh Hong Commune Party Committee(Quynh Luu) held the congress for the 2020 - 2025 term.

In the spirit of solidarity and democracy, the Party Congresses of the communes elected the Executive Committee for the 2020-2025 term and elected the delegation to attend the 28th Quynh Luu District Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term.

*TAccording to the report of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control of Nghe An province, the tornado accompanied by lightning on May 17 caused many localities in the province to be affected.suffered heavy damageabout people, houses, constructions, crops, and livestock. Currently, localities are focusing on directing the quick recovery of damage and stabilizing life and production.

The tornado that occurred in the districts of Do Luong, Thanh Chuong, Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen, Nghi Loc, Tan Ky, Con Cuong, Vinh City has severely affected many areas. The total damage in the province due to the tornado on the afternoon of May 17 is estimated at about 32 billion VND.

*VAt about 1:00 p.m. on May 19, at the New Bridge over the Dao Canal in Hamlet 1, Dong Son Commune, Do Luong, an accident occurred.tragic drowningThis is alarming when summer comes, many students bathe in rivers and streams, drowning is likely to occur.

Present at the foot of the bridge at that time, Thai Van Viet, born in 2004, recounted: “At that time, I was sitting and playing and saw 6 friends swimming in the canal. Suddenly, I saw one friend swim out to the middle of the canal and then drown. I immediately ran down and swam out to save him but it was too late…”. Upon receiving the news, officers and soldiers of the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team No. 5 stationed in Do Luong district were present at the scene to search for the victim’s body but could not find it.
