(Baonghean.vn) - Cua Lo Town has canceled the old establishment decision which included the phrase “international” and requested the school to remove it. Vinh City is also taking a similar action.

Speaking to Nghe An Newspaper reporters on the morning of August 28, Mr. Phung Duc Nhan - Head of the Department of Education and Training of Cua Lo Town said that Cua Lo Town has just canceled the decision to establish Sun Kids International Kindergarten and issued a new decision to establish it. In this new decision, the school is changed to Sun Kids Kindergarten.

“Realizing that adding the word “international” is not in accordance with the regulations and charter, we have canceled the old decision. At the same time, we have requested the school to change its name. Currently, the school has removed this phrase from the school gate as well as seals and documents related to legal status,” said Mr. Nhan.

Meanwhile, Mr. Le Truong Son - Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Vinh City said that this agency has also received a guidance document from the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An regarding "international schools" and "bilingual schools" in the area. In particular, the Department also proposed to remove the phrases "international" and "bilingual" in these kindergartens.

“We have completed the document to advise Vinh City to cancel the old decision and issue a new decision to remove these phrases,” said Mr. Son.

In Vinh City, according to the reporter's investigation, there are at least 3 kindergartens labeled "international" and "bilingual", although these schools do not meet international standards and do not teach bilingualism in their true nature. They are Anh Duong International Kindergarten; Viet - Singapore International Bilingual Kindergarten; and Happy Kids Bilingual Kindergarten.

For Green School Kindergarten, the establishment decision did not include the phrase “bilingual” but when it came into operation, the school arbitrarily added it. Currently, the school owner has also removed this phrase.

In addition, there are a series of other private preschools that also hang signs that are not in accordance with regulations, not in accordance with the establishment decision and the governing body.

Discussing this issue, Mr. Tran The Son - Head of the Preschool Education Department (Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province), said that many schools have exploited the foreign-oriented mentality of parents, adding international labels to enhance their brand. "This can also be considered an act of deceiving customers," said Mr. Son.
