Poet Tran Dang Khoa "reveals" the secret to writing a good letter to participate in the UPU International Letter Writing Competition
(Baonghean.vn) - At the launching ceremony of the 48th UPU International Letter Writing Competition (2019) and the awarding of the Third Prize of the 47th UPU International Letter Writing Competition (2018) held on the morning of October 12, at Dang Thai Mai Secondary School (Vinh City), poet Tran Dang Khoa "revealed" many secrets to writing good letters.

The launching ceremony of the 48th UPU International Letter Writing Competition (2019) and the awarding of the third prize of the 47th UPU International Letter Writing Competition (2018) was organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Training, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Vietnam Post Corporation and the Tien Phong Youth Newspaper.
Attending the launching ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Minh Hong - Deputy Minister of Information and Communications - Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Luong - Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Council of Young Pioneers. On the side of Nghe An province, there was comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee along with representatives of relevant departments and branches, a large number of teachers and students. In particular, there was the participation of poet Tran Dang Khoa and famous writers and journalists.

Launching the 48th UPU International Letter Writing Competition in 2019, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hong said that the competition has the theme "Write a letter about your hero". This is an open topic, evoking many creative thoughts, thoughts and emotions for each contestant.
"Every young person has their own hero. It can be a hero, idol, celebrity, legend, superhero, leader... but it can also be very ordinary people around them every day such as grandparents, parents, teachers, friends, relatives... - the people they admire the most, who inspire them positively" - Mr. Nguyen Minh Hong suggested.

Expressing his joy when Nghe An was chosen as the locality to organize the launching ceremony of the contest, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Hoa said that in recent years, Nghe An province has actively responded to the national UPU international letter writing contest. In 2016 - 2017, Nghe An had 2 consecutive students winning the "Promising Writer" award, although it was only the initial result, it showed the spread and enthusiasm of the letter writing movement in schools and localities.
To encourage and motivate students in the province to actively respond and participate in the 48th UPU International Letter Writing Competition with high quality, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Education and Training, the Provincial Youth Union and especially parents to pay attention and consider this as one of the meaningful activities in educating their children.
Comrade Le Ngoc Hoa called on relevant departments and agencies to effectively promote and disseminate the contest to all students in the province. At the same time, he encouraged and motivated young people and students at all levels to participate in the contest and suggested and guided them in depth on the topic "Write a letter about your hero".

Immediately after the launching ceremony of the 48th contest in 2019, the Organizing Committee of the contest awarded the Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and prizes to Nguyen Thi Bach Duong - a student of class 8A, Nguyen Trai Secondary School, Nam Sach District, Hai Duong Province, who won the first national prize and the third international prize. It is known that this is the 14th time Vietnamese students have won an international prize after 28 times participating.

The atmosphere of the launching ceremony was "hotter" during the exchange between poet Tran Dang Khoa and the delegates with students of Dang Thai Mai Secondary School. The poet revealed the secret to writing a good letter: "You have to write in such a way that from the first line, people cannot stop reading. To do that, you have to carefully research the topic, choose specific and unique characters. Note that this is an international competition, so the letter must mention issues of world concern, otherwise if it is only about issues and events on a domestic scale, it is not very suitable."
