(Baonghean.vn) - Some units and organizations have practical activities to support the poor in Vinh City, Quy Hop and Con Cuong.

Towards Vietnam Day of People with Disabilities April 18, 2019,Association for the Support of the Disabled and Orphans of Vinh Cityjust organized a livelihood giving event for people with disabilities in Vinh Tan ward (Vinh city).

With a total support budget of 21 million VND, this time, the family of Ms. Phan Thi Lanh, a parishioner in Vinh My block with a mobility disability and difficult family circumstances, was supported with a breeding cow worth 15 million VND and 2 households of disabled people in Tan An block, Vinh Tan ward were supported with 100 breeding chickens.

Supporting the livelihood of people with disabilities not only helps them have conditions to develop the economy and increase their income, but also brings joy, encouragement and motivation to improve their lives when receiving the attention and sharing of the community.

Ms. Cao Thi The's situation is very difficult, no husband, no children, living with her 85-year-old mother in a dilapidated house without any valuable furniture. Ms. The discovered her jaw cancer when it had progressed to stage 2, Nghe An Oncology Hospital prescribed radiotherapy, but the family did not have money for treatment.

Faced with such difficult circumstances, the Quy Hop Charity Group called for the community's support and donated nearly 13 million VND to promptly support Ms. The's treatment costs.

Con Cuong High SchoolOrganize rice distribution to support students in region 135 according to Decree 116/2016/ND-CP dated July 18, 2016 of the Government.

Accordingly, in the 2018-2019 school year, Con Cuong High School had 432 students receiving rice support. These are students from localities eligible for Program 135, whose homes are more than 10 km from the school, will receive 15 kg of rice/month, within 9 months of a school year.

This program helps children study with peace of mind, and at the same time helps parents in mountainous areas reduce some of the worries about the cost of sending their children to school.
