Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council visits nursing centers for war invalids and families with meritorious services

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 17, on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, a working delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee led by Comrade Cao Thi Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council visited and presented gifts to the provincial War Invalids Nursing Centers and Areas and typical families of policy beneficiaries and meritorious people in Vinh city.

The delegation included representatives of the Provincial People's Council Office, the Provincial Military Command, the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, and the Vinh City People's Committee.

At the provincial Nursing Center for War Invalids, the delegation was briefed on the unit’s activities. Currently, the center is caring for 70 war invalids, seriously ill soldiers and homeless relatives of martyrs in Nghe An and Ha Tinh. These are war invalids with high disability rates, poor health, and many are no longer able to take care of themselves.

Despite many difficulties, the staff of the center always try to provide the best care and service, contributing to the society to repay the sacrifice of wounded soldiers and martyrs' relatives. Thanks to that, most of the subjects being cared for at the center are optimistic, happy, and believe in the guidelines and policies of the Party and State.

At the Mental Health Nursing Area, there are currently 94 wounded and sick soldiers and social subjects being cared for and treated. The wounded and sick soldiers here have a special feature of high disability rate, neurological problems, and many have lost their memory.

With that characteristic, during the care and treatment process, the staff of the Nursing Area use many therapies to help the subjects recover their health and memory. In addition to nutrition and regular check-ups, the wounded and sick soldiers also go sightseeing, rest and participate in cultural, artistic, physical education and sports exchanges, thanks to which their health is stable and progresses.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Comrade Cao Thi Hien sent to the wounded soldiers, relatives of martyrs and officers and staff of the provincial Nursing Center for Wounded Soldiers and the Mental Health Nursing Area good health and much joy. At the same time, she shared the difficulties and hardships and acknowledged the dedication and sacrifice of the officers and staff of the two units in caring for and treating special wounded soldiers, considering wounded soldiers, relatives of martyrs as family members.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council also hopes that the wounded, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs and the officers and employees of the two units will continue to uphold the tradition and morality of the nation, strive to overcome difficulties to rise up in life, and set an example for the younger generation. Continuously improve the material and spiritual life of the wounded, sick soldiers and relatives of martyrs.

On the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, the provincial delegation presented gifts from the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to the Provincial Nursing Center for War Invalids and the Mental Health Nursing Area for War Invalids.

On this occasion, the delegation also visited and presented gifts to two families of war invalids in difficult circumstances in Vinh city. They are the family of 1/4 war invalid Nguyen Van Le (born in 1952) in hamlet 2 (Nghi Kim commune) who is often sick, his wife is currently being treated for cancer; the family of 1/4 war invalid Trinh Hong Thang (born in 1961) in block 3 (Ha Huy Tap ward) who often has to be hospitalized for treatment, and his children are still going to school.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Comrade Cao Thi Hien shared the difficulties and losses and encouraged the wounded soldiers and their members in life. At the same time, she noted that local leaders should pay more attention and provide both spiritual and material support to compensate for the sacrifices and disadvantages of policy families.
