On March 3, comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee led a working delegation to inspect and direct agricultural, forestry and fishery production in Que Phong district.

Before working with the People's Committee of Que Phong district, the working delegation went to the field to inspect the fish cage farming model atHua Na hydroelectric reservoirin Thong Thu commune, forest planting model in Hanh Dich commune.

According to the report of the People's Committee of Que Phong district, in 2020, despite many difficulties, with efforts, the district has achieved many outstanding achievements. The growth rate of the agricultural sector reached 3.1%, many economic models in agriculture have gradually formed in a concentrated direction, associated with safe production.

In the area, there are 2 cooperatives that have been granted VietGAP certificates: Que Son Cooperative specializing in plant varieties, animal breeds and agriculture and Hua Na Agricultural Service Cooperative.

Regarding some agricultural products in the area, the district leader said that the passion fruit tree has been granted a certificate of trademark registration "Que Phong Passion Fruit" by the Department of Intellectual Property under the Ministry of Science and Technology for 2 products: Passion fruit and Passion fruit juice.

There are 839.3 hectares of forest in Dong Van and Thong Thu communes that have been granted FSC certification by the international forest organization. Que Phong Golden Flower tea products have been voted as a typical rural industrial product at the provincial level.

The new rural construction movement has seen many improvements. In 2020, 4 villages and hamlets met the new rural standards. Notably, 1 village in a border commune was recognized as a village meeting the new rural standards.

However, Que Phong district still faces difficulties such as fragmented and small-scale agricultural production, and the rural infrastructure system still has many shortcomings and has degraded and damaged...

In 2021, Que Phong district strives to plant 950 hectares of new forests and raise over 315 fish cages in the Hua Na and Chau Thang hydroelectric dams. Strive to have at least 7 more villages meeting NTM standards. Focus on advising on attracting resources to implement the Central and provincial policies to support agricultural and rural development; direct the reorganization of livestock production in the area according to the chain. At the same time, strengthen investment promotion advice, call... to attract businesses to invest in agriculture; expand cooperation, closely link in production and product consumption between household economies, cooperatives and businesses...

Recognizing and praising the results achieved by Que Phong district, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu discussed a number of key tasks for Que Phong district.

Accordingly, in the coming time, the district needs to focus on the agricultural sector, focusing on developing the forest economy, creating favorable conditions for businesses to cooperate in planting large timber forests, forming raw material areas to serve processing enterprises.

Focus on directing the reorganization of livestock production in the area according to the chain link, maximizing the leading role of enterprises and cooperatives, in order to better control the transportation and consumption of products and regulate the supply and demand of the livestock product market.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested Que Phong district to promote concentrated livestock farming according to the farm and family farming model, gradually reducing free-range livestock farming; Continue to expand fish cage farming on hydroelectric dams to increase productivity, quality and product value. Convert ineffective land to valuable crops such as oranges and grapefruits, exploit the potential for growing medicinal plants under the forest canopy, and form joint ventures with businesses to develop medicinal plants.
