On August 29, 1994, Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet signed and issued a Government Decree establishing Cua Lo town on the basis of Cua Lo town and the communes of Nghi Thu, Nghi Hung, Nghi Hoa, Nghi Hai and 0.5km²Natural area, 2,291 people of Nghi Quang commune, all belong to Nghi Loc district (Nghe An).

Cua Lo town has a natural area of ​​29.12km2, with a current population of about 76,471 people, living in 7 wards: Nghi Hai, Nghi Hoa, Nghi Huong, Nghi Tan, Nghi Thu, Nghi Thuy and Thu Thuy.

Urban infrastructure is increasingly spacious and gradually completed. Cua Lo town is one of the first district-level units in Nghe An to ensure a balance in annual budget revenue and expenditure. In 2022, the town's estimated budget revenue will reach about 673.6 billion VND and total budget expenditure will be about 573 billion VND.

1. Nghi Hai:

Nghi Hai Ward has a natural area of ​​6.41km², located about 13km northeast of Vinh city center; the East borders the East Sea, the West borders Nghi Xuan commune (Nghi Loc district), the South borders Xuan Hoi (Nghi Xuan, Ha Tinh).

By the end of 2022, Nghi Hai ward had 13,276 people. In 2022, the ward's total budget revenue reached 57.22 billion VND.

2. Nghi Hoa

Nghi Hoa Ward has a natural area of ​​4.21km², located about 13km east of Vinh city center; the East borders the East Sea, the West borders Nghi Thach and Nghi Xuan communes (Nghi Loc district), the North borders Nghi Huong ward.

By the end of 2022, Nghi Hoa ward has a population of 7,597 people. The ward's budget revenue in 2022 reached 20.2 billion VND.

3. Nghi Huong

Nghi Huong Ward has a natural area of ​​10.04km², located about 15km northeast of Vinh city center; the East borders the East Sea; the West borders Nghi Thach commune (Nghi Loc district), the South borders Nghi Hoa ward, the North borders Nghi Thu ward.

By the end of 2022, the total population of the ward is 11,368 people. The total budget revenue in the ward in 2022 reached 51.68 billion VND.

4. Nghi Tan

Nghi Tan Ward has a natural area of ​​1.78km², about 17km northeast of Vinh city center; to the east it borders Nghi Thuy ward, to the west and south it borders Khanh Hop commune (Nghi Loc district), to the north it borders Nghi Quang and Nghi Thiet communes (Nghi Loc district).

By the end of 2022, Nghi Tan ward has a total population of 16,222 people. Budget revenue reached 9.9 billion VND in 2022.

5. Nghi Thu

Nghi Thu Ward has a natural area of ​​3.71km², located about 15km northeast of Vinh city center; bordering Thu Thuy ward and Bien Dong ward to the east, Khanh Hop commune (Nghi Loc) to the west and north, Nghi Huong ward and Nghi Thach commune (Nghi Loc district) to the south. By the end of 2022, the total population of the ward is 7,758 people. Budget revenue in the ward in 2022 reached 39.25 billion VND.

6. Nghi Thuy

Nghi Thuy Ward has a natural area of ​​1.8km², about 16km northeast of Vinh city center; the East borders the East Sea, the West borders Nghi Tan ward and Khanh Hop commune (Nghi Loc district), the South borders Nghi Thuy ward, the North borders Nghi Thiet commune (Nghi Loc).

By the end of 2022, the total population of the ward was 12,912 people; budget revenue last year reached 9.9 billion VND.

7. Thu Thuy

Thu Thuy Ward has a natural area of ​​1.14km², located about 16km northeast of Vinh city center; the East borders the East Sea, the West borders Nghi Thu ward and Khanh Hop commune (Nghi Loc district), the South borders Nghi Thu ward, the North borders Nghi Thuy ward.

By the end of 2022, the entire ward had a population of 7,338 people, and budget revenue last year reached 8.6 billion VND.
