Launching the Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue Team in Vinh City

Recently, natural disasters, floods, and inundation have been complicated in all regions, including Vinh city. Although the city has upgraded and renovated roads and drainage systems, in reality, with prolonged heavy rain, flooding still occurs in many streets and alleys.

The model of the Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue Team was first deployed by Truong Thi Ward, located on Nguyen Tai Street, Block 2. This street is also one of the frequently flooded areas in recent years.

The Truong Thi ward disaster prevention and control - search and rescue team consists of 11 members, divided into 2 small teams. Team 1 from house number 9A1 Ho Tung Mau street to house number 24 Nguyen Tai street with 6 members. Team 2 from house number 28 Nguyen Tai street to house number 05 Nguyen Van Cu street with 5 members.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ho Sy Dung - Chairman of Truong Thi Ward People's Committee emphasized: The force of the Disaster Prevention and Control Team plays an important role, playing the core role in implementing the "4 on-site" motto, is a quick response force, promptly handling emergency situations from the first hour before outside forces approach. This is also a force that performs well in prevention tasks such as propaganda, checking vulnerable locations, being ready to respond when natural disasters occur and overcoming consequences if any.

Accordingly, the shock team will have regular tasks including: Participate in developing and seriously implementing the plan for natural disaster prevention and control, and the plan for natural disaster response of the ward and city; propagate and disseminate to raise awareness, skills and responsibilities of the people in the plan for natural disaster prevention and control; Monitor forecasts, warnings and developments of natural disasters; promptly report to the Head of the Ward Command and notify organizations and individuals in the area with appropriate measures.

The team mobilizes shock troops to coordinate with families in residential groups to regularly inspect the drainage system, promptly clear sewers, sumps, and manholes on roads to ensure flow and prevent flooding. Inspect and detect risks of unsafety to people's residences, works, and infrastructure in the area; proactively handle and promptly inform people and the Ward Command Head for handling. Inspect, detect, prevent, and promptly report to authorities and specialized agencies for handling when there are violations of the law on natural disaster prevention and control...

At the ceremony, Mr. Dang Huu Ha - representative of the Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue Team spoke about accepting the task and determined to complete the disaster prevention and control work in the area, especially during the approaching rainy and stormy season.

After the ceremony, the disaster prevention and search and rescue team and people in Block 2, Truong Thi Ward joined hands to clear the drainage system, trim trees, and collect garbage to ensure flood control in the area.
