According to the report of the Department of Education and Training of Ky Son district, at about 4:00 p.m. on October 2, Mr. Xong Ba Cha (born in 1975) - Principal of My Ly 2 Primary School drove a car carrying Mr. Nguyen Dinh Dan (born in 1974 - Vice Principal) and Ms. Lu Thi Khuyen (born in 1989 - teacher) leaving the school.
On the way from Xang Tren village to the center of My Ly commune, just past the Yen Hoa village bridge slope, the car plunged straight into the abyss on the bank of Nam Non river. Local authorities, Border Guards and people were present at the scene to take the victims to first aid, however, Mr. Dan and Ms. Khuyen died later. Teacher Xong Ba Cha was seriously injured and is being treated at the hospital and is now out of danger.

The Director of Nghe An Department of Education and Training sent his deepest condolences and encouraged Mr. Dan's family to try to overcome the great loss.
It is known that Mr. Dan and his wife have 2 young children, the first is in 10th grade, the second is in 6th grade. Mr. Dan's wife is also a teacher who has been working in Ky Son district for many years and has just returned to her hometown to work at Hung Thong Kindergarten (Hung Nguyen district).
On the same afternoon, representatives of the Education Trade Union and departments in the Department also directly visited, expressed condolences and encouraged the family of teacher Lu Thi Khuyen in My Ly commune. The Provincial Education Trade Union also supported each victim family with 3 million VND.
