Increasing green space towards sustainable urban development of Vinh
(Baonghean.vn) - The synchronous and scientific re-planning of the green tree system has contributed to forming a civilized and modern urban appearance for Vinh city.
Currently, Vinh city is upgrading and repairing many roads, including the project to upgrade and renovate Nguyen Van Cu street from Le Hong Phong street to Nguyen Sy Sach street.
It is easy to see that the system of cut trees causes loss of urban beauty, especially in the hot and humid summer weather of Nghe An, combined with the greenhouse effect and concrete effect, making people living along the road and passersby feel suffocated because everywhere is asphalt, concrete, and rocks,... And, that also shows us how important the shade of trees is!

The issue of cutting down trees on this route also received many opinions expressing conflicting views and opinions from some residents in the city. One opinion expressed concern: "It's summer, cutting down all the trees is very hot", "It's a pity to replace the trees", "It's better to have shade from trees when walking on the hot street", etc. Another opinion said: "Keep it tidy before the rainy and stormy season", "It's summer, so cutting down won't break the branches", "It's a necessary thing for the future", etc.
That also raises the question: Why did Vinh city cut down all the trees along Nguyen Van Cu street from Le Hong Phong to Nguyen Sy Sach street?

Through research, it is known that within the project to upgrade and renovate Nguyen Van Cu street, from Le Hong Phong street to Nguyen Sy Sach street,Vinh City People's Committee, the green tree system on both sides of this road has been re-planned to synchronize with the urban infrastructure. Because the old trees of many species were planted spontaneously by people, not in rows or paths, many trees lack aesthetics, grow poorly and are infested with pests and diseases, with a high risk of falling.
Before implementing the project, the city also consulted with households currently living on both sides of the road, most of whom agreed and highly agreed. The completed project will create unity, ensure the quality of trees, long-term effectiveness, aesthetics and contribute to completing the infrastructure system, synchronizing traffic, trees, lighting, drainage, environmental sanitation... to become a more civilized and modern neighborhood.

It is known that the current urban green tree system in Vinh city still has many shortcomings, in which there is a need for replacement to create uniformity. Some roads have been studied by Vinh city to plant more trees to create a new look and highlight for the city, which has received many positive reviews as well as responses from all classes of people.
For example, hundreds of rosewood trees were planted along Nguyen Sy Sach Street. Up to now, the rosewood trees have grown tall, spreading their canopies and providing cool shade. When the trees bloom, the whole street is bright yellow with rosewood flowers, and everyone can feel the fresh, vibrant beauty of the central city of the province.

The projects to upgrade and renovate the sidewalks and trees on Ho Tung Mau Street from the Post Office intersection to Vuong Thuc Mau Street and Nguyen Van Cu Street from Ho Tung Mau Street to Le Hong Phong Street have completed the tree system, contributing to making the sidewalks and streets more beautiful and modern.
In addition, the replanting of trees on the roads has completely changed the appearance of the road, becoming an ideal check-in photo spot or cool shelter for people. Along with that, urban beautification also helps Vinh city residents change their awareness, lifestyle and sense of protecting the community environment.

It can be seen that the synchronous and scientific re-planning of the green tree system has contributed to shaping the appearance of the city.civilized, modern cityfor Vinh city. The problem here is that the project is located on a main road with a high density of people and vehicles, so the contractor needs to speed up the construction progress, have a plan to ensure traffic safety and limit unnecessary inconveniences for people living on both sides of the road directly affected by the project.
Especially planting street trees to create shade, landscape and protect the environment, not just planting them for the sake of it and then destroying them later just because they are no longer suitable.
Planting trees is a job for the future, the government must carefully consider and select the species of trees planted in urban areas according to environmental functions, suitable for the characteristics of the space and location, meeting the requirements of urban aesthetics, as well as the function and purpose of use to avoid waste. At the same time, increasing green areas towards sustainable development, contributing to improving the quality of life for people.
