(Baonghean.vn) - More than 1 million fish fry have been released into Lam River by leaders and students of the Institute of Agriculture and Resources (Vinh University) to regenerate aquatic resources and develop natural aquatic resources.

On the afternoon of March 30, at the foot of the old Yen Xuan bridge (Nam Dan), a delegation of cadres and students from the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Vinh University, held a ceremony to release fish fry to regenerate natural aquatic resources. This is the 5th time the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources has held a ceremony to release fish fry to regenerate natural aquatic resources. This activity also aims to celebrate the 63rd anniversary of the traditional day of the Vietnamese Fisheries industry (April 1, 1959 - April 1, 2022).

On this occasion, leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the province; Vinh University; Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources; Provincial Agricultural Extension Center; North Central Fisheries Research Institute and more than 100 students released more than 1 million fish fry of various types: tilapia, silver carp, carp... These are fish breeds provided by the Freshwater Aquaculture and Livestock Farm of the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

Dr. Tran Ba ​​Tien - Vice Principal of Vinh University said: "Through this activity, in addition to the purpose of contributing to the regeneration of aquatic resources, it also aims to promote to students of Aquaculture and Natural Resources Management about the traditional day of the industry; at the same time, educate students about love for the profession, pride in the profession, and awareness of the issue of natural aquatic environment. Organizing activities also helps teachers and students get closer to each other, creating a joyful atmosphere as well as motivation for students in their studies". Releasing fish into the wild is a meaningful activity to regenerate and develop resources, maintain ecological balance, and protect biodiversity.
