Vinh City launches Online Photo Contest 'Charming Vietnamese Ao Dai'

On the afternoon of March 3, the Provincial Women's Union coordinated with the Vinh City Women's Union to organize the launching ceremony of the online photo contest "Charming Vietnamese Ao Dai".
The contest aims to affirm and honor the value of Ao Dai in social life, arouse pride and responsibility in preserving and promoting Vietnamese cultural identity in every woman, aiming to propose recognizing Ao Dai as a national intangible cultural heritage.
The contest also creates opportunities for women of all walks of life to share and express their love for the traditional ao dai, contributing to honoring the graceful, soft, and kind beauty of Vietnamese women. At the same time, it helps the younger generation better understand the meaning and the process of the birth of the traditional ao dai of the nation.

This is the first time a beautiful photo contest about Ao Dai has been held online. Contestants are cadres and women's union members working, studying and living in Vinh city, aged 18 and over, with a valid Facebook account.

The Organizing Committee is expected to award 15 prizes, including 1 First Prize, 1 Second Prize, 1 Third Prize and 3 Consolation Prizes. In addition, 5 additional prizes will be awarded to the contestant with the most likes, the contestant with the most shares, the contestant with the best impression, the youngest contestant and the oldest contestant. During the 4 weeks of the contest, each week the Organizing Committee will award 1 randomly drawn prize to the luckiest contestant.
Previously, to celebrate the 110th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8) and to honor the value of Vietnamese Ao Dai, the Provincial Women's Union also called on female cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, members, women, and young women to respond to "Ao Dai Week" from March 2 to March 8, 2020, especially wearing Ao Dai on March 6, 2020.
The contest will be launched throughout Vinh city, lasting from March to May 2020 and implemented in 2 rounds. In which, round 1 from March 6 to April 30 will receive photos and conduct a preliminary round and from April 30 to May 19, the organizing committee will conduct scoring and awarding.
To participate in the contest, each contestant must submit 2 photos (portrait and full body) in Ao Dai. In addition, each contestant must write their feelings and thoughts about the work or impressions of the contest in 100-800 words.
