(Baonghean.vn) - On July 17, comrade Phan Duc Dong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee - Secretary of the City Party Committee - Chairman of the Vinh City People's Council led a delegation of officials to offer flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Vietnam-Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery and Truong Bon National Historical Relic Site.
Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs Cemeteryis the resting place of more than 11 thousand martyrs from 47 provinces and cities across the country who heroically sacrificed their lives while performing international duties in Laos.

At Truong Bon National Historical Site, the delegation of Vinh City officials offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs, expressing their respect and deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs of Company 317, the General Youth Volunteer Force against the US, who sacrificed their youth for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. During the years of the war against the US to save the country, the legendary Truong Bon route was the traffic artery supplying human and material resources from the Northern rear to the Southern front.
During the country's long resistance wars in the 20th century, along with the people of the whole country, Nghe An had tens of thousands of outstanding sons joining the army, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers on all battlefields. The whole province had more than 45,000 martyrs who heroically sacrificed their lives, and more than 56,000 wounded and sick soldiers who left a part of their blood and bones on the battlefield.
