Thai Hoa town celebrates 10th anniversary of establishment, receives Second Class Labor Medal

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Phan Dinh Trac - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission; Nguyen Xuan Thang - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council.

Thai Hoa town was established under Decree 164/2007/ND-CP dated November 15, 2007 of the Prime Minister on the basis of separating Thai Hoa town and 7 communes of Nghia Dan district, including 10 administrative units: 4 wards, 6 communes and officially came into operation on May 10, 2008.

After 10 years of construction and growth, Thai Hoa town has had quite comprehensive development in the fields of socio-economy, national defense - security, Party building, and political system building.

The economy has grown quite well annually with an average rate of 7.8% in the recent period (in terms of added value). The economic structure has shifted in a positive direction, gradually reducing the proportion of agriculture, forestry and fishery, and gradually increasing the proportion of the service sector.

Average income per capita increased from 14 million VND in 2008 to 37 million VND in 2017. The poverty rate decreased rapidly, from 9.1% in 2008 (according to the old standard) to 2.2% (according to the new standard) in 2017, the second lowest in the whole province.

In 2015, Thai Hoa town was recognized by the Prime Minister as the first district-level unit of Nghe An province to meet new rural standards and is striving to achieve type III urban status by 2020.

On this occasion, the people and officials of Thai Hoa town were honored to receive the Second Class Labor Medal awarded by the President.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, comrade Phan Dinh Trac - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission awarded the Second Class Labor Medal to Thai Hoa town.

Speaking at the ceremony, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh congratulated and commended the efforts, attempts and great results that the Party Committee, government, army and people of Thai Hoa town have achieved over the past 10 years.

To build Thai Hoa Town into an economic and cultural center of the Northwest region of Nghe An province, the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized: "The Party Committee, government and people of Thai Hoa Town need to continue to innovate, be proactive and creative; seize opportunities, overcome challenges, and effectively carry out local political tasks."

In particular, comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh suggested that the town needs to summarize and seriously evaluate the lessons learned in all areas in the development process over the past 10 years, combined with reviewing and carefully examining the results of implementing the goals and targets after half a term of implementing the Resolution of the 2nd Town Party Congress; promoting collective intelligence, opinions of veteran comrades, provincial and central leaders, experts, scientists,... to determine the direction and solutions for the town's development in the coming time.

The town also needs to organize an assessment of the overall planning for socio-economic development of the town until 2020, and develop a master plan for socio-economic development of the town until 2030, with a vision to 2050 in accordance with the province's planning...

The Provincial Party Secretary also requested the town to encourage economic sectors to invest in services; actively restructure the agricultural sector, develop towards ecological agriculture, apply biotechnology and high technology; prioritize the development of processing industries, especially agricultural and forestry processing, associated with industrial clusters, small-scale industries and craft villages.

On the other hand, Thai Hoa needs to continue to maintain the achievements in building new rural areas and wards that meet urban civilized standards; improve the quality of urban management...

Particularly regarding Party building work, the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that Thai Hoa needs to continue to promote Party building and rectification work in the spirit of Resolution 4 of the Central Committee (12th tenure) in conjunction with implementing Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the Politburo on continuing to promote studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle.

Besides, Thai Hoa needs to effectively implement the Central Resolution 6 (12th term) on continuing to innovate and reorganize the political system to be streamlined, operate effectively and efficiently; focus on building a team of successor leaders and managers and a team of officials and civil servants of the town with equal qualities and capacity, meeting the requirements of tasks in the current period.

Technical opening of the 210 billion VND bridge project in Thai Hoa town
