Attracting investment, creating a new look in Thai Hoa town

According to statistics from the Town People's Committee, there are currently 244 enterprises operating in Thai Hoa Town. The scale of enterprises in the area has been increased, contributing nearly 50% of the total state budget revenue in the area (excluding land use fees).

To achieve that result, the Town Party Committee and the Town People's Committee coordinated with departments, branches, and organizations at the provincial and town levels to increase investment attraction and encourage organizations and individuals in the town to invest in production development.

In the period of 2018 - 2020 alone, the town attracted 10 projects with a total investment of 381 billion VND. Of which, 2 projects were completed and put into operation: Commercial area, supermarket combined with townhouses (Shophouse) with a total investment of 110 billion VND, Dong Hieu Rest Stop (phase 1) bringing socio-economic efficiency and 3 projects are completing investment procedures.

The key factor in this field is that the Town Party Committee and People's Committee actively reform administration, Party committees at all levels, authorities and mass organizations of the town strengthen leadership, direction and coordination in site clearance work, direct the handling of problems in the site clearance process, and create favorable conditions for projects to come into operation soon.

In 2019 and 2020, the Town People's Committee focused on consulting on site clearance for 22 projects with a total recovered area of ​​12.35 hectares of land from individual households, paying 67.49 billion VND to affected households, and handing over 8 resettlement lots.

Up to now, the site clearance work has been completed for the following projects: Commercial area, supermarket, shophouse townhouses in block 8, Long Son ward; Headquarters of Thai Hoa town police; Thien Phu mechanical and material processing factory in Nghia My commune; White limestone powder processing factory in Nghia My commune; construction of wastewater drainage and wastewater treatment system under the Nghia My Industrial Cluster Technical Infrastructure project, renovation of the 110kV Quynh Luu - Quy Hop line, and subdivision of residential land in Dong Hieu commune (Dong Du).

At the same time, focus on consulting to resolve problems in the projects: Long Son 1, Long Son 2, Long Son 3, Long Son 4 Urban Areas; Uncle Ho's Memorial Site visiting Dong Hieu; Rest Stop in Dong Hieu Commune, 500kV line connecting Nghi Son 2 Power Plant to the National Power System, traffic routes to the center of Nghia Hoa Commune, main roads...

Aiming to develop Thai Hoa town into an economic, tourism, service and trade center according to the standards of a type III urban area of ​​the Northwest region of Nghe An, entering a new phase, the Town Party Committee and People's Committee continue to promote investment attraction and administrative reform.

On that basis, the entire political system and the people in the area joined in, with the help of provincial and central departments and branches, to successfully implement the project to adjust the general planning of Thai Hoa town to 2030 and vision to 2040, approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 5137/QD-UBND dated December 13, 2019.

The Town People's Committee has submitted to the Provincial People's Committee permission to survey and select locations, develop plans for existing urban center subdivisions, expanded urban areas; Dong Hieu urban area; ecological areas on both sides of Hieu River. On October 31, 2020, the Provincial People's Committee approved Decision No. 3850/QD-UBND on permission to survey and select locations, and develop plans for the construction of Bau Sen Forest Park in Hoa Hieu Ward, Thai Hoa Town.

Thai Hoa town also advocates innovation in investment promotion.in a more proactive and effective manner. Increase access to economic groups and consulting companies to effectively attract investment. At the same time, monitor and support investors from the time of attracting investment to project implementation, contributing to promoting production and business of enterprises, solving employment, and increasing income for workers in the area.
