Deputy Minister of Information and Communications talks about digital transformation with lecturers and students of Vinh University
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of June 23, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Huy Dung visited and worked at Vinh University and had many discussions on the issue of promoting digital transformation in education and training.

Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huy Bang - Rector of Vinh University mentioned the "National Digital Transformation Program to 2025, with a vision to 2030" of the Prime Minister.
To adapt to the new situation, Vinh University has also developed a plan and implemented many innovative activities in its operations and management towards improving effectiveness and efficiency. The goal is to "become a smart university, ranked in the top 500 universities in Asia by 2030, aiming for the top 1,000 universities in the world by 2045".

To carry out the set tasks, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huy Bang shared: The school is simultaneously implementing many solutions. In particular, the teaching programs have been adjusted so that 30% of the training program credits are oriented towards the form of projects linked to the practice and needs of businesses, teaching is linked to innovation and entrepreneurship.
In addition, promoting the form of teaching organization in the direction of 4.0, including minimum requirements such as creating conditions for learners to study anywhere, anytime and not only learn from the school's teachers but also from good experts in the country and the world. The school also identified the need to make a breakthrough in human resources and consider human resources as the center of development, focusing on investment to develop and improve the professional qualifications and skills of the teaching staff.

Currently, Vinh University has received approval from the Prime Minister and the National Assembly in principle to approve the school's medium-term projects. In addition, the school has just received ODA capital support from Korea to develop its second campus according to the innovation model.
To improve operational efficiency, the President of Vinh University hopes that the working session with the Deputy Minister of Information and Communications and the members of the delegation will help the school clarify the contents of development orientation and remove difficulties, especially in the national digital transformation program.

Speaking to staff, teachers and students of Vinh University, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Huy Dung mentioned the topic of digital transformation of smart universities, focusing on the content from digital universities to digital nations. The talk helped attendees have an overview of the issue of digital transformation and building a digital university model.
From the reality in many countries around the world, Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung also shared some issues in implementing the digital university model and analyzed the factors for effective implementation, focusing on factors of digital learning materials, digital lecturers, digital students, digital learning environment... Currently, this completely digital model has been applied by many universities around the world and some domestic universities and has been participated by many students.

For Vinh University and many other universities, the implementation of the digital university model can shorten the distance between schools. In addition, it is possible to apply digital learning in the teaching and enrollment process, improve learning opportunities... with lower costs but still effective and unlimited number of participants, which can shorten the learning time.
Giving advice to Vinh University students in the context of "digital transformation", Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Huy Dung hopes that students will have passion and boldly pursue and persevere with their passion. Having passion will also help them overcome difficulties and challenges in the future.
Besides, the Deputy Minister hopes that students also need to limit the use of electronic devices, spend time reading books and accumulate more knowledge for themselves.
