Nghe An Province awarded the Investment Registration Certificate for the WHA Industrial Zone 2 project.
On the afternoon of January 6, the Provincial People's Committee awarded the Investment Registration Certificate for the WHA Industrial Zone 2 - Nghe An project to the Thai WHA Group.
Attending the ceremony, on behalf of the Provincial People's Committee, there were comrades: Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Bui Thanh An - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board; departments, branches and Nghi Loc district.
On the investor side, there were Ms. Jareeporn Jarukornsakul - General Director of WHA Group; Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Lien - General Director of WHA Industrial Zone Nghe An Joint Stock Company; leaders of WHA Group.
Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that the growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in 2024 in Nghe An province will reach about 9.01%; budget revenue will reach about 23,751 billion VND, exceeding 49.3% of the estimate, exceeding 10.4% of the implementation in 2023; Total export turnover will reach 3.7 billion USD, of which the export turnover of goods is estimated at over 3.2 billion USD. In particular, attracting FDI capital in 2024 will achieve very positive results, with the total registered and adjusted capital reaching nearly 1.75 billion USD, ranking 8th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that to achieve these results, there are extremely important contributions from businesses and investors, including WHA Group, with the investment and development of WHA Zone 1 and WHA Zone 2 Industrial Parks.
WHA Industrial Zone 1 Nghe An Industrial Park Project is one of the key projects of Nghe An province with a planned area of 498 hectares, total project investment of 2,056.5 billion VND. In 2017, the Project was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 681/QD-TTg dated May 22, 2017 with the goal of investing in the construction and business of industrial park infrastructure, high-tech industrial parks and urban areas.
Since WHA Group invested in WHA Zone 1 Industrial Park, Nghe An provincial government has paid attention to directing the removal of difficulties and obstacles, promoting compensation and site clearance work and ensuring synchronous connection of technical infrastructure. Along with that, Nghe An always creates the best conditions, speeds up investment procedures, and builds secondary projects in the industrial park.
By the end of 2024, WHA Zone 1 Industrial Park has attracted 37 secondary projects, including 32 FDI projects with a total capital of 1.26 billion USD/5.868 billion USD of the whole province (accounting for nearly 21.5% of the total FDI capital of the whole province). By attracting many large-scale projects, projects have been and are being implemented, completed procedures, some projects put into operation, contributing significantly to the budget revenue, creating job opportunities for about 100,000 - 120,000 workers, promoting the socio-economic development of the locality.
WHA Zone 2 Industrial Park was approved by the Prime Minister for investment in Decision No. 1706/QD-TTg dated December 31, 2024, with a total area of 183.37 hectares and a total investment of 50 million USD. The project's objective is to develop the industrial park's infrastructure to create clean land and synchronous infrastructure to attract secondary projects for investment, production and business activities.
The above results are a testament to the efforts of WHA Group and the support, companionship and creation of the most favorable conditions in terms of policies and investment and business environment for investors in general and for WHA Group in particular by the authorities of Nghe An province.
Promoting the achieved results, Comrade Le Hong Vinh - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that in 2025, the Provincial People's Committee, departments and branches will actively coordinate with WHA to complete the construction of technical infrastructure of WHA Zone 1 Industrial Park - Phase 2; complete the site clearance of WHA Zone 2 Industrial Park and start the construction of technical infrastructure; attract potential secondary investors in WHA Zone 1 and WHA Zone 2 Industrial Parks.
In addition to the economic contributions of WHA Group, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also highly appreciated the social security activities that the group has carried out in the locality in the past time. On behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Le Hong Vinh expressed his gratitude to WHA Group for trusting and choosing Nghe An province as an investment destination, and at the same time acknowledged the generosity of the group's leaders and congratulated the results and contributions of WHA Group in the past year.
