Restoring the words 'Uncle Ho lives forever' on the slope of Nhon mountain

Towards the 74th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 (1945 - 2019), the 550th anniversary of the name Hung Nguyen, on August 17 and 18, Hung Nguyen District Youth Union mobilized its members to restore the words "Uncle Ho lives forever" on the slope of Nhon mountain, in hamlet 16, Hung Thang commune.

The inscription “Uncle Ho lives forever” was built in December 1969, three months after Uncle Ho passed away, to commemorate his great contributions to his homeland and people. Over the decades, due to the impact of nature and weather, the inscription on Nhon Mountain has gradually faded.

During the 2017 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, officials and members of the Hung Thang Commune Youth Union dug trenches and spread white lime to restore the inscriptions that were built 48 years ago. However, due to harsh weather, especially heavy rains, the inscriptions were eroded.

This year, Hung Nguyen District Youth Union allocated 15 million VND to buy lime and mobilized nearly 125 working days to restore the words "Uncle Ho lives forever", ensuring aesthetics. The letters were designed to be nearly 1 meter wide, 30 cm deep, 5 m high and sprinkled with white lime to make them stand out, still visible from a distance.

Restoring the words “Uncle Ho lives forever” is a practical act, showing respect for Uncle Ho. At the same time, it contributes to preserving and building the traditions of the homeland, educating union members and youth to study and follow the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh.
