Vinh City supports nearly 4.5 billion VND for more than 5,800 policy beneficiaries and those in difficulty.

This information was presented at the conference summarizing the program "Tet for the Poor - Ky Hoi 2019" organized by Vinh city on the afternoon of March 29.

Currently, Vinh city has 311 poor households, accounting for 0.41% and 605 near-poor households. Although the poverty rate is the lowest in the province, the recent "Tet for the Poor - Ky Hoi 2019" program, Vinh city mobilized the highest total amount of money in the province, nearly 4.5 billion VND.

In addition to mobilizing voluntary contributions from the people, the city focuses on mobilizing support from 612 units and businesses in the area.

The City Fatherland Front Committee and wards and communes have also paid attention to allocating mobilized resources in a timely and appropriate manner. Accordingly, 5,818 poor, near-poor, disadvantaged, sick, disabled, policy beneficiaries, lonely elderly, and Agent Orange victims received Tet gifts. The value of each gift is VND500,000 at the lowest and VND4.2 million at the highest per person.

In addition to supporting local families, the City Fatherland Front Committee also used mobilized funds to give Tet gifts to 270 poor households in Mai Son commune, Tuong Duong district. The wards of Le Loi, Le Mao, and Ben Thuy also directly gave gifts to poor households in some communes in Tuong Duong, Anh Son, and Thanh Chuong districts.
