Dien Cat Commune (Dien Chau) receives Certificate of recognition for meeting New Rural standards

(Baonghean.vn)- On April 8, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Dien Cat commune (Dien Chau) held a ceremony to receive the certificate of recognition of the commune meeting national standards for new rural construction.

Dien Cat is a purely agricultural commune with a total natural area of ​​718.18 hectares with 1,696 households distributed in 9 hamlets. Implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, Dien Cat commune has mobilized over 233 billion VND, of which people contributed over 158 billion VND. In addition, people also voluntarily donated thousands of square meters of land to build surrounding walls and expand inter-hamlet roads.

Up to now, the commune has maintained, repaired and renovated 6.1 km of commune and inter-commune roads; nearly 8 km of village and hamlet roads; solidified over 13 km of drainage ditches and intra-field canals; standardized 3 levels of schools and 1 health station to meet national standards. The commune has built a multi-purpose cultural house with a capacity of 200 seats, 100% of hamlets have cultural houses...

In the past 5 years, Dien Cat commune has focused on economic development; built a project to improve fields, convert small plots of land into large plots, replicate farm economic models... At the same time, promote the conversion of crop and livestock structure to increase productivity, high quality, and improve people's income.

Since 2013, the commune has implemented many training courses on livestock breeding and cultivation techniques for some key crop and livestock varieties to create jobs for rural workers. At the same time, it has created conditions for workers to access preferential loans to develop production.

Thanks to that, the average income per capita reached 29 million VND/year. The poverty rate decreased from 28% in 2011 to 4.53% in 2016.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee praised and congratulated Dien Cat Party Committee for achieving the title of commune meeting the NTM standards. At the same time, he requested the Party Committee, local government and people to continue to promote the awareness of the entire political system on new rural construction; this must be considered a central and continuous political task. Dien Cat Commune needs to be determined to maintain, sustain and improve the quality and sustainability of the criteria... in the coming time.

On this occasion, 4 individuals and 4 groups with outstanding achievements in the New Rural Construction movement were awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial People's Committee. Dien Chau District People's Committee awarded 300 million VND to the Party Committee, government and people of Dien Cat commune and awarded certificates of merit to 4 groups and 4 individuals with outstanding achievements in the New Rural Construction movement.
