Tan Huong Commune (Tan Ky) completes each criterion to reach the new rural finish line

Tan Huong commune has a relatively favorable terrain for socio-economic development, with Ho Chi Minh road running through it and only about 6 km from the district center. Up to now, the people here have been activehousehold economic developmentin many different forms. In addition to the forestry nursery and molasses processing professions that are known to customers in and outside the province, in recent years, there have also been farm and family economic models that have brought about clear household economic efficiency.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Tam in Tan Minh hamlet is one of the owners of a comprehensive farm in the commune. He said that with the advantage of having a large garden and hill land, his family planned to raise buffaloes, cows, pigs, chickens, fish, etc. With experience in raising and producing animals, the farm is growing, creating jobs for many workers each year and bringing high income to the family.

It is known that currently in Tan Huong commune, there are 41 farms and ranches; of which, there are 2 livestock farms, the rest are mixed farms and ranches. The farms and ranches have exploited the potential and advantages of land and labor, bringing income to the family, contributing positively to the locality in the process of building new rural areas.

According to Mr. Le Duc Thuyen - Chairman of Tan Huong Commune People's Committee, with the participation of the entire political system and the consensus of the people, after many years of implementation,National Target Program on New Rural ConstructionAccording to the survey, by June 2022, Tan Huong commune had met 14/19 criteria; 5 criteria have not been met, including: Traffic, schools, culture, cultural facilities and commerce.

Mr. Le Duc Thuyen said that currently, 2 schools in the commune have new investment projects, which will start construction in the near future. Regarding the traffic criteria, because it was implemented from the beginning of the year, the hamlets have basically cleared the land on the roads, gathered materials and agreed on the implementation method after receiving cement.

“According to provincial regulations, Tan Huong commune is supported with 2,800 tons of cement to build concrete roads. However, up to this point, the state has not allocated cement to the locality, while the hamlets have prepared materials, and when cement is available, it can be implemented immediately. Tan Huong commune's plan is to pour concrete on 18 km of village and hamlet roads this year, so the people's wish is that the state will soon support cement for implementation.”

Strong direction from the district

Mr. Nguyen Cong Trung - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tan Ky district said: When choosing Tan Huong commune to reach the new rural destination in 2022, the district identified this as a special commune with many difficulties. Therefore, from the beginning of the year, the District People's Committee has directly worked with the locality to have strong supervision and direction.

Accordingly, the District People's Committee has developed a specific implementation plan with a roadmap and resources for implementation, assigned each member to be in charge of work contents, reviewed and evaluated the implementation of the program monthly. Launched a new rural construction emulation movement in the whole commune. Continued to review the contents of thecriteriaweak and unsustainable, to build and consolidate with quality to meet requirements. Review and rebalance resources, allocate construction items reasonably, do not leave arrears; continue to take advantage of support sources from superiors associated with integrating programs and projects; carry out advocacy work, attract investment; mobilize internal resources from revenue sources and mobilize people's contributions...

For the criteria that have not been met, the District People's Committee has specific solutions, assigned departments and offices to coordinate with the locality to have solutions and timely support. Strive to complete the criteria for Tan Huong commune to reach the new rural commune finish line by November 30, 2022.

With the participation of the entire political system and the unanimous efforts of the people, along with the close and drastic direction of the district, it is hoped that Tan Huong commune will reach the new rural finish line on schedule.

After 12 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development, up to now, Tan Ky district has had 15/21 communes reaching the new rural area; striving to have 1 more commune reaching the new rural area and 2 communes completing the advanced new rural area by 2022. Tan Ky district sets a target of having 17-18 communes reaching the new rural area and 5 communes completing the advanced new rural area by 2025.
