(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of November 28, in Hung Nguyen district, the Central Organizing Committee delegation led by comrade Nguyen Thanh Binh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee visited and presented support to Nghe An province to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
Accompanying the delegation to Nghe An province were comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Le Duc Cuong - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board, Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province.

Speaking to the leaders of Nghe An province, Hung Nguyen district and local people, the Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee expressed his deep sympathy for the heavy damage caused by floods to the Central provinces, including Nghe An in general and Hung Nguyen district in particular; at the same time, he wished the locality to soon overcome difficulties and ensure the people's lives.
In the spirit of mutual love and support, the Central Organizing Committee, Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development (BIDV), and Deo Ca Group donated 700 million VND to Nghe An province to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

On this occasion, the Central Organizing Committee directly presented gifts to 20 households affected by natural disasters, each household received 5 million VND to help overcome the consequences caused by natural disasters.

Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh respectfully sends her most sincere thanks to organizations, agencies, units, including the Central Organizing Committee and businesses that visited Hung Nguyen and presented gifts on this occasion.
Due to the circulation of storm No. 9, the province has had heavy to very heavy rain in the last days of October. The whole province has 102 communes and hamlets severely flooded, of which 52 communes and hamlets were isolated, 19,000 houses were flooded, about 8,000 households had to evacuate from flooded areas and landslide risks. The rain and floods also caused flooded hamlets, 27 hamlets were isolated. 6 houses collapsed, 84 houses were partially damaged, 803 houses were affected by landslides; 18 schools were flooded, 12 classrooms were damaged, nearly 1,400m of school fence collapsed.
More than 885 hectares of rice, nearly 10,000 hectares of corn and various vegetables, and nearly 6,500 hectares of people's aquaculture areas were submerged in floodwaters; nearly 140,000 poultry and nearly 457 cattle were swept away by the flood.
In addition, the floods also caused more than 44km of canals to collapse; washed away 23 temporary bridges and caused landslides along more than 51km of local roads, damaged 2 transformer stations and broke 92 electric poles. In addition, the floods also caused 55 locations on both national and provincial highways to be flooded and traffic jams, including 37 locations on national highways and 18 locations on provincial roads.
Nghe An has proactively responded with the "4 on-site" motto; implemented measures to protect people's lives and property, and State property; which was highly appreciated by Military Region 4. On October 30, Nghe An Provincial Party Committee issued an urgent dispatch on responding to natural disasters occurring in the province due to the impact of storm No. 9. Accordingly, Nghe An Provincial Party Committee requested Party secretaries and heads of authorities at all levels in the province to directly lead and direct the response to heavy rain and floods in the province according to the "4 on-site" motto. In the immediate future, focus on rescuing people in flooded and isolated areas; organize the relocation and evacuation of people in areas at risk of flash floods, landslides. Deploy warning measures at flooded traffic points, arrange forces on duty, and resolutely not let people and vehicles pass through dangerous locations...
Up to now, the Party Committee, government and people have focused on overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, but are still facing difficulties due to severe flooding, damaged houses, lost crops, and damaged traffic...
