Arrested subject carrying 2 heroin cakes and 1kg of crystal meth from the border to the South for consumption
(Baonghean.vn) - Nguyen Van Viet, a resident of Thai Nguyen, drove a motorbike from Dien Chau district to Que Phong district to buy a large quantity of drugs. On the way back, he was caught red-handed by Que Phong district police.
On July 2, Que Phong district police said that the unit had just coordinated with Chau Thon commune police to successfully break up project 712M, arresting Nguyen Van Viet (born in 1971), residing in Thanh Ninh commune, Phu Binh district (Thai Nguyen) for the act ofdrug trafficking, seized 02 heroin cakes, 01kg of crystal meth, 01 motorbike and 03 mobile phones.
Nguyen Van Viet had a previous conviction for illegal drug trafficking and was released from prison in 2016. However, he often lived in Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces, mainly to find sources for illegal drug trafficking.

Through the work of grasping the situation, the police force found that recently, Viet often appeared in the border area between Chau Thon commune (Que Phong district) and Muong Long village (Tri Le commune, Que Phong district) with many suspicious signs.
On the morning of June 30, 2021, upon receiving information that Nguyen Van Viet appeared in the area and was likely to conduct drug transactions and trafficking in large quantities, the Task Force decided to crack the case.
At 12:30 p.m. the same day (June 30), when Viet drove his motorbike to Chau Thon commune, Que Phong district, Que Phong district police quickly controlled and caught the subject red-handed, confiscating 2 heroin cakes, 1 kg of crystal meth, 1 motorbike and 3 mobile phones.
At the investigation agency, Nguyen Van Viet confessed to buying the above drugs in the border area of Tri Le commune to bring them downstream for consumption. Currently, Que Phong District Police are temporarily detaining Nguyen Van Viet, continuing to investigate and expand the case./.
