A 9X addict in a remote commune spent tens of millions to buy drugs to treat his friends.
(Baonghean.vn) - Addicted to drugs, Hieu ((residing in Quy Chau district, Nghe An) bought drugs twice for personal use. Not only for his own needs, Hieu also generously "covered" for many other addicts.
On August 31, Nghe An Provincial People's Court opened a first-instance criminal trial.Le Trung Hieu(born in 1991), residing in Chau Hoi commune, Quy Chau district, for the crime of "Illegal possession of narcotics", Lo Van Ky (born in 1992), residing in Chau Thang commune, Quy Chau district, for the crime of "Failure to report a crime".
The indictment stated that, due to his drug addiction, at the end of November 2019, Le Trung Hieu went to the Ga intersection in Vinh City to buy 15 million VND worth of drugs. The seller gave Hieu 54.110 grams of drugs, and also added a small amount of crystal meth. Hieu took some home to use, and hid the rest for later use, including treating his girlfriend in the same drug addiction group.

On December 9, 2019, Hieu invited Ky to go to Thong Thu border gate, Que Phong district to get a knife for his friend. When he arrived, Hieu told Ky to wait in the car and then went into the forest to meet a Laotian to get 43.735 grams.drugthen handed over 15 million VND. Hieu asked for some more drugs to use. On the way home, Hieu told Ky about buying drugs. Ky knew his friend had committed a crime but did not report it to the police.
With the drugs purchased in Vinh City and Thong Thu border gate, Hieu divided them into many small packages and hid them in many places in the car. On December 11, 2019, when Hieu and Ky went to a friend's wedding, they were checked and discovered by the police of Quy Hop district.
In court, defendant Hieu said he had been addicted to drugs since the beginning of the year and had been buying them for gradual use. Meanwhile, defendant Ky said that because Hieu had given him free drugs many times, he often followed Hieu and “did whatever he was told to do.”
It is known that Hieu was previously administratively punished for theft of property and destruction or intentional damage to other people's property.
Considering the case as a whole, the court sentenced Le Trung Hieu to 15 years in prison for illegal possession of drugs and sentenced Lo Van Ky to 18 months in prison for failure to report a crime.
