Voters of Dien Chau district wish to soon upgrade Lach Van fishing port

On the morning of October 6, at the People's Committee of Dien Ngoc commune (Dien Chau district), Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, and member of the 15th National Assembly had a meeting with voters before the second session.

The conference was connected online with the district center and the communes of Dien Bich, Dien Kim, Dien Van. Attending the conference were representatives of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, the Social Policy Bank, the Provincial Social Insurance, the Department of Transport, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; representatives of the leaders of the District Party Committee, People's Committee, and the Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Chau district. At the conference, delegate Vo Thi Minh Sinh reported to voters on the program and content of the second session of the 15th National Assembly.

Next, many voters in the four communes of Dien Ngoc, Dien Bich, Dien Kim, and Dien Van expressed many thoughts, aspirations, recommendations, and proposals to the National Assembly, the Government, and central ministries and branches on issues related to socio-economic development and important mechanisms and policies.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Vice Chairman of Dien Ngoc Commune expressed concern about the safety of the coastal and estuary dykes. Because this dyke system was built 40-50 years ago, mainly by manual earthworks, many sections of the dykes have now seriously degraded and are unsafe during the rainy season.

In particular, more than 300 meters of dike in Nam Thinh hamlet in Dien Ngoc commune have been severely degraded, directly affecting nearly 30 households living along the dike. In particular, after the 2020 flood season, this dike was severely eroded, causing households to suffer from rising water and saltwater intrusion, threatening their lives.

Sharing the same concerns regarding Lach Van, voters from Dien Bich, Dien Ngoc, and Dien Kim communes reported serious pollution here. Accordingly, Lach Van is the largest fishing port in Dien Chau district, where more than 400 boats from Dien Ngoc commune and hundreds of fishing boats from neighboring localities anchor.

However, in recent years, this fishing port has been surrounded by waste and wastewater, negatively affecting the lives of households living around the fishing port. Along with the impact of waste, the sedimentation on both sides of the creek while the boat mooring area has not been invested in synchronously has hindered the process of mooring boats after fishing and sheltering from storms of fishermen.

Therefore, voters hope that the authorities will soon have a plan to dredge the canal to end the pollution that has lasted for many years. At the same time, upgrade and renovate it synchronously to ensure safety when anchoring boats after fishing.

At Dien Bich commune, Ms. Nguyen Thi Chuyen (Hamlet 2) presented a number of recommendations related to support policies for workers and businesses facing difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic according to Resolution 68/NQ-CP and Decision No. 22/2021/QD-UBND of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee dated August 9, 2021 on regulations to support workers without labor contracts and some other special subjects facing difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic in the province.

Accordingly, the implementation guidance at the local level has many shortcomings in determining the supported subjects.

Specifically, construction workers in a construction project, such as masons and bricklayers, are entitled to support, while other workers in the same group such as mechanics, electricians, plumbers, and mechanics are not entitled to this policy. Along with that, when businesses are affected by the pandemic, the group of porters and transporters in businesses and establishments selling essential goods also lose their jobs. Therefore, voters hope that the National Assembly will add the above group of workers to receive support to ensure legitimate rights for the people.

In addition, the storm in mid-September caused hundreds of salt farmers to lose everything, causing heavy damage to salt in warehouses and production areas. Therefore, salt farmers in the two communes above hope to receive support to overcome difficulties and continue to develop production.

Some issues related to the policy regime, allowance regime for part-time workers at the hamlet level, infrastructure system after the merger... were also of interest and reflected by voters.

At the end of the conference, delegate Vo Thi Minh Sinh acknowledged and accepted the enthusiastic opinions, concerns, frustrations, and worries in many areas from voters and people of Dien Chau district.

Voters' recommendations were received and clarified by departments, branches, leaders of Dien Chau district, and Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Vo Thi Minh Sinh. Some important recommendations will be proposed to the National Assembly, the Government, and central ministries and branches for resolution in the coming time.
