Thai Hoa town veterans protest against priest Dang Huu Nam
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 9, in response to the distorted and untrue arguments of priest Dang Huu Nam, the parish priest of Phu Yen, An Hoa commune, Quynh Luu district, veterans of Thai Hoa town held a conference to express their indignation, condemn and demand strict punishment for this priest.

The conference was attended by more than 400 delegates representing 5,000 veterans from 10 communes and wards in Thai Hoa town.
The conference affirmed that Dang Huu Nam's words and actions were completely fabricated and untrue, demonstrating his reactionary, opposing, trampling, and denying nature of the revolution of the Party, the nation, and our people.

The delegates expressed their indignation at the arrogant actions of priest Dang Huu Nam, and said that his actions seriously violated the Constitution and laws of Vietnam, violated the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child; and seriously offended the honor and dignity of millions of Vietnamese people who heroically fought and sacrificed to protect the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, so that we can have the peaceful life we have today.
Also at the conference, delegates made recommendations to relevant authorities to strictly handle Dang Huu Nam in accordance with the law.
At the end of the conference, the Association of War Veterans of Thai Hoa town passed a Resolution on protesting against Father Dang Huu Nam, parish priest of Phu Yen parish, An Hoa commune, Quynh Luu district with the following contents: Requesting Archbishop of Vinh Diocese Nguyen Thai Hop, priest Nguyen Van Dinh, parish priest of Thuan Nghia, to take measures to prevent and request Father Dang Huu Nam to immediately stop all wrongdoings and actions for a long time.
Besides, Mr. Dang Huu Nam is required to strictly comply with the law and not to make any statements inciting parishioners to do illegal acts.
Priest Dang Huu Nam must apologize to the people and war veterans nationwide in general, and the people of An Hoa commune and war veterans in Quynh Luu district in particular, for his statements distorting history and denying the revolutionary achievements that generations of Vietnamese people shed blood and tears to achieve victory on April 30, 1975.
Propose that the government and authorities at all levels take resolute measures to promptly prevent all reactionary actions of priest Dang Huu Nam and take strict measures to handle him before the law.
