(Baonghean.vn) - On November 2nd and 3rd (corresponding to the 9th and 10th days of the 10th lunar month of the Year of the Tiger), the Ong Hoang Muoi Temple Festival took place in Hung Thinh commune (Hung Nguyen district), attracting a large number of locals and tourists from all over.

Ong Hoang Muoi TempleLocated in Xuan Am hamlet, Hung Thinh commune (Hung Nguyen district), built during the late Le dynasty (17th century), situated on land shaped like a crane's beak next to the Moc River, it is also known as "Crane's Beak Sacred Temple," and is recognized as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic.

The temple is dedicated to the deity Hoang Muoi, who is credited with protecting the nation and its people, safeguarding community life, and is admired and respected by people from all regions. The temple also worships benevolent deities such as Le Khoi, Duke Trinh Trung, Song Dong Ngoc Nu, Nguyen Duy Lac, and the Four Palaces Mother Goddess religion, headed by Saint Mother Lieu Hanh.

The Ong Hoang Muoi Temple Festival, held annually on the 9th and 10th of October in the lunar calendar, is an occasion to honor traditional cultural values, educate about love for the homeland and the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source." At the same time, it is an opportunity for pilgrims from all over to visit Hung Nguyen – a land with a rich cultural, historical, patriotic, and revolutionary tradition.

The 2022 Ong Hoang Muoi Temple Festival was organized in two parts. The ceremonial part included traditional rituals: the opening ceremony, the announcement ceremony, the procession, the grand sacrifice, the proclamation of the royal decree, and the thanksgiving ceremony.

The festival includes: releasing lanterns on the Moc River; folk art exchanges between Nghệ Tĩnh folk song clubs; and competitions in sports such as women's volleyball, boat racing, and tug-of-war…
