Beating a relative to death, breaking his skull on suspicion of stealing tea
(Baonghean.vn) - After coming home from drinking, Mac Van Lieu, a resident of Quy Hop district (Nghe An), discovered someone had stolen tea leaves from his garden, so he used a stick to hit him on the head. The victim died from a fractured skull.
On July 23, Nghe An Provincial People's Court opened the first instance criminal trial of Mac Van Lieu (born 1967), residing in Yen Hop commune, Quy Hop district, for murder.
Previously, at around 7:00 p.m. on March 2, 2020, people discovered Mr. MVH lying motionless in Lieu's tea garden. Although the victim was taken to the emergency room by everyone, he died early the next morning.
The incident was reported to the authorities. The police were determined to be a complicated murder case, with the victim being hit in the head, resulting in a fractured skull and death.

Through screening and screening of subjects near the scene of the incident, Mac Van Lieu emerged with many suspicious points. Afterwards, the police decided to temporarily detain Mac Van Lieu to investigate and clarify the death of Mr. H. At the investigation agency, Mac Van Lieu admitted that he was the culprit who caused the death of Mr. H., who was also his cousin.
Accordingly, on the evening of March 2, after returning home from drinking at a wedding, Mr. Lieu discovered Mr. H. was illegally cutting tea in his garden. Lieu used a bamboo stick to hit Mr. H. twice in the head and pushed the victim down into the garden. Afterwards, Lieu called his family to take Mr. H. home, but the victim died.
At the trial, due to the lack of legal representation of the victim and witnesses in the case. At the same time, this was the first trial, the panel of judges decided to postpone the trial. The time for the trial of defendant Mac Van Lieu for murder will be determined by the court later.
