Visiting a woman returning from the South, dozens of people in Nghe An became F1
(Baonghean.vn) - Although she had just returned from Ho Chi Minh City and had to quarantine at home, a woman in Trang Son commune (Do Luong) still came into contact with dozens of people in just 2 days.
On the morning of October 25, Mr. Phan Thanh Dong - Director of Do Luong District Medical Center said that medical staff are urgently taking Covid-19 test samples for all residents of Hamlet 3 (Trang Son Commune), after recording a case here. In addition, the authorities are also thoroughly investigating and tracing those who have been in contact with the patient while she was quarantined at home.
This is a patient who was found to be infected with Covid-19 while in quarantine because she had returned from the epidemic area in the South, but there were dozens of F1s. The patient is a 59-year-old woman. On October 21, she returned to her hometown in Nghe An by bus from Ho Chi Minh City. Because she had received 2 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, the second dose was more than 14 days ago, she was quarantined at home.

"The task of checking and monitoring citizens in home quarantine is assigned to the community surveillance team. However, the people in the team are relatives of this woman, so the incident happened," Mr. Dong said, adding that because her husband had just been diagnosed with cancer, right after the woman returned to her hometown and was allowed to quarantine at home, many relatives and family members came to visit.
On October 23, this woman was pooled for testing and the results were suspicious. On October 24, the patient's sample was sent to the CDC. On the evening of October 24, the results were confirmed positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus. "Immediately after the suspicious results, we locked down the house. We asked the people involved to temporarily quarantine at home. Up to now, after having the positive results, all F1s have been taken to centralized quarantine at the kindergarten," said Mr. Dong.
To date, authorities have traced 36 F1s. All of these people are neighbors and relatives who came to visit within 2 days after the patient returned to his hometown from Ho Chi Minh City.
