Breakthrough in trade and service development in Dong Hieu

In particular, developing trade, services and tourism is considered one of the "breakthrough" stages, contributing greatly to the socio-economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction.

Located at the intersection of Ho Chi Minh Road and National Highway 48 and bordering several communes and Nghia Dan district, Dong Hieu commune is very convenient for buying, selling and trading goods. Along with that, Dong Hieu commune government has an open mechanism for groups and individuals to do business and trade in the locality quickly in terms of administrative procedures; business premises are arranged in accordance with the reality and business needs of the people. Political security is stable, social order and safety are guaranteed, people feel secure in doing business and production. Thanks to that, the service and trade sectors have many improvements.

Currently in Dong Hieu commune, trade and services are developing in a diverse way with industries such as transportation, electronics, electrical appliances, auto repair, welding, construction materials trading, groceries... With a total of 210 licensed business households, in addition, there are more than small business households, with a total business capital of hundreds of billions of VND.

Over the past years, trade and service activities have contributed positively to the socio-economic development and increased budget revenue for the locality. The value of trade and service production in 2010 reached 54.8 billion VND, and by 2015 it reached 100 billion VND. The total number of households participating in business in the area increases annually by 10-12% with many diverse industries.

However, trade and services in the area still develop spontaneously, without planning; service development is still slow, traditional industries and existing potential of the locality have not been promoted; trade activities are still self-sufficient, there is little industrial nature in business, and professionalism in service activities is not high.

Faced with that reality, the resolution of the commune party congress set a target of making the trade and service sector account for 51.6% of the local economic structure. Accordingly, the Dong Hieu commune government has proposed implementation solutions, focusing on some key, practical solutions such as creating a business environment in the most beneficial direction for service households, encouraging economic sectors to do business and trade in the locality.

Along with that, the commune government has also mobilized all resources, prioritized investment in developing trade, services and tourism, exploited local advantages by effectively implementing tours to Vac Village - Bau Sen Temple - Uncle Ho's Relic Site to visit Dong Hieu to promote trade and service development.
